Love is in the hair this Valentine's Day with this hair stenciling technique 💕In this video I show what you get in my February Braid Box and how to use these items to make stenciled hearts on hair 👊🏼 I have never been a fan of colored hair spray on my daughters' brown hair because it never shows up well (it usually looks more like a "tint" of color). I wanted to find a way to improve this.
I had the idea to prime the hair white with dry shampoo. One of the undesired effects of dry shampoo is that is can leave a white residue on the hair - but in this case, that is actually what we want. Just like it is better to "prime" a dark colored wall white before painting it, we are priming the hair white so we can see the true color of the hair spray we place on top of it. Not done much painting? No worries, just watch the video and you will see how this all works 🙌🏼 A couple of tips, I like to stencil an area of hair that is smooth and secured in place. I also like to use standard hair spray on the area of hair before doing the stencils. Allow the hair spray to dry (or make sure the hair is dry) before applying the dry shampoo and colored hair spray. Also, afterwards do not spray more hair spray on top. You don't want to "wet" the stenciled areas with water or any kind of product. This colored hair spray washes out easily with shampoo and comes off the stencils easily with water.
