TheSkyHazCloudz but it cost that at any GOOD salon. I’ve learned you get what you pay for sometimes when it comes to hair. The least I’ve paid to get professional color is around $250 and that was a single process.

@@SuperReezyBaby Look, I've had my hair fucked up by professional stylists in fancy salons with 5 stars on Yelp enough to know that nothing is guaranteed. Professionals fuck up, too, so you could pay your $400 and still not like the result. Plus, you're ignoring the point that I made; girls are willing to take the gamble in order to not pay hundreds. Not everyone is made of money. Not everyone can blow $400 on hair every 6 weeks.

@@TheSkyHazCloudz I totally agree with you because I could never pay that much for my hair (I simply don't have that much 😂) but at the same time I don't understand why they keep trying and messing up their hair because they didn't do the research... I mean watching a tutorial takes 5 min and you already learn a lot (including not applying the product with your hands lol) I tried bleaching my hair over henna when I was like 18 and spoiler: it was HORRIBLE. I bought a darker box dye and bam! Problem solved, I didn't try to bleach it again and again and again after I failed, cause if it failed once I knew it was too much of a risk 😂 So what I don't understand is why people try things without researching but when it fails they keep trying 🤔

I've bleached my hair at home before and the only bad thing I've done is it came out blonder than I wanted. She really messed up when she put the box dye on top. All she had to do was go to Sally's and get a color and like a 10 developer. That box dye probably had a 40 developer in it. I'm surprised anyone would touch her hair after that.

that's not even the issue, she literally just applied it in the most messy way possible, without even sectioning! it is perfectly possible to bleach your hair at home and come out with good results, but AT LEAST learn how to section '-' there are plenty tutorials on YT teaching how to properly bleach your hair by yourself, but hey, maybe she thinks ruining her hair for the sake of YT views is better lol

Not true, I always color my Hair at home with, wait for it, Box Dye :O :O But for me it works, my hair isn't too dark so I'll only need one session and two packs of dye. And since my hair is naturally very wavy and has a lot of different shades in it, it is not noticeable if I miss a few spots (which doesn't happen too often though) So it all depends on your hair, for some it might be smart to do it themselves whereas for others it might not be

But that was the issue she didn't know that that was what she was doing wrong, everytime she didn't get the result she wanted she just thought that she didn't have enough bleach. It's hard to correct a wrong when you don't know it's wrong. But I agree with the other commentor she should have at least looked up a tutorial or at least talked to someone who knew how to bleach hair.

everyones arguing about it lol. i totally agree. the problem is that if you know what you're doing when you do your hair at home, you wont fuck it up as much as these people do. theres a reason he reacts to them and people are acting as if laying a finger on your own head will equate to taking a lighter to your hair. ive done my own hair at home so many times and it was okay because i did so much research beforehand and didnt have to spend the extra money on fixing it. these people either need to research way more or just not touch their own hair.

You realize as a hairdresser, this is how I make my money? Would I love to charge less so more people could afford to get their hair done? Yes. But I can’t pay my bills that way. I have to buy products (color, shampoo, styling products, etc), I have student loans I’m paying on, I have to buy my tools (shears $500 each, hairdryer $300, flat iron $200, etc), and pay for educational classes every year which is required for me to be able to keep license. I don’t get paid hourly. I don’t make money unless people pay for my services. If you want to do your hair yourself, that’s fine. But don’t bash hairstylists for trying to make a living. While you may not be able to afford or just don’t want to pay $400 to get your hair done, trust me there are plenty of people who do and are happy to pay that price to have good hair.

I'm sure in your lifetime you have also deemed something as overpriced or too much for you budget, the fact that it was someone's job behind that price doesn't change that perception and that's not bashing the people providing that service.

People saying $160 is too expensive really undervalue hair stylists. Keep in mind, you are paying for the products (the bleach, developer, multiple bottles of dye, toner, shampoo and conditioner, sanitizing agents, hair spray, hair foils, and other tools if they style your hair), the expertise of the stylist who has spent thousands of hours in school to be licensed, not to mention the years of experience they have and dyeing hair is so tedious, going through it section by section, the salon space they rent, which in a major metro area will cost upwards of $1000 a month, someone then has to go clean up the mess and wash the towels, the dyeing brushes and tubs, sanitizing all combs used, and so on. Sorry you think 160 is expensive but they have to earn a living too.

It shouldn't cost that much at home. You can get a bottle of developer and a tub of bleach powder for about 15 or 20 bucks. I bleach my own hair at home. I like to do crazy colors on my hair so I need to bleach it if I wanna switch color. I usually use dark colors now so I only have to bleach it a little. I use 20 or 30 volume developer but don't even leave it 10 minutes. It's literally just to pull out color. I use argon oil in my bleach mixture and apply it on my hair damp. Basically a bleach bath. You can bleach your own hair at home if you know what you're doing. You just need to do research and have a realistic goal in mind. About 10 years ago I went to a salon and ended up with chemical burns with bleeding blisters on my scalp and my hair still looked like shit. No fucking thanks!

I've had good and bad experiences both ways. Both are risky (salon vs home). You just need to make a realistic pro/con of what you want vs what you can actually get. Bottom line? Be realistic and honest with what you want vs what you can actually do yourself and know when to say "Nope. I'm just gonna throw my money at a professional."

People are saying that $160 is unreasonable, but considering her hair length and thickness, it’s a really good price. I used to have really thick, long hair, down to my middle back, and it costed $140 for two sessions, and because of how dark my hair is and the red undertones, they couldn’t get it totally blonde, it was an orange, brassy blonde, even with toner, and it would have taken a lot more money and sessions to get it blonde. The dye alone probably totaled, for two sessions, to be at least $100 because it’s professional bleach and they had to use so much for my hair, and then along with how much effort and time it takes to get it through all of my hair, because I have a lot of it. People need to realize that with service comes a price. Yes, it might cost a little more than it would to do it at home, but most people do not have cosmetology degrees, do not have access to professional dye/bleach, and do not really know what they’re doing, so in the end, if you really want it done right, it better to go to hair salon and pay the extra bucks unless you know what you’re doing.

I don't section mine really, but my hair is short! It's no longer than the bottom of my ear lobes, and the other side is even shorter (asymmetrical hair cut). I had a devil of a time finding videos of people bleaching short hair! I found one from a guy in S. America (I think) whose hair was almost the same style as mine and followed his.
