Honestly, she looked amazing with the shaved head. But definitely didn’t seem like she was prepared or even present at the time. Even after the initial chop, a stylist could have corrected it in a way that didnt need to resort to shaving one side of her head, but the end product looked good on her.

I love that the second vid, the chick was like, “yeah, the ponytail cut is so satisfying, but I don’t think it’s gonna work for me. My hair is so thick.” So, the solution is to just hack it off without rhyme or reason as opposed to section the hair into 4, 6, or 8 ponytails. Makes sense 😂

Finally found a lady who still washed your hair, the old-school way, and she did a fantastic job (with what she had to work with). Unfortunately, the lady I went to before her ruined my hair and this fantastic lady told me to grow out my hair. And now that I'm ready to cut my hair, she's no longer there! :(

It really is difficult. I was lucky and knew the manager of a salon in my new city as the same chain exists in my hometown as well and is a very good one, while I had the same hairstylist from childhood until I moved. Changing hairstylists is so scary, especially since many have very different backgrounds in regards to technique and style. A friend of mine, for example, who's a professional hairstylist was taught that cutting the blunt edges to take off most of the desired length is easier to do on dry unwashed hair, whereas some say the opposite. So I agree with you. You really gotta be lucky, or have connections.

I had a traumatic hair cut when I was in elementary school and didn't cut my hair again at all till my 30s (excluding split ends cut by mom). Then one day it was the middle of night in August, I couldn't stand all that hair in the heat, and I just chopped it all off. I now have a "whatever, it grows back" attitude to my hair, so as far as I'm concerned, DIY gone wrong is just an opportunity to go wild, and at the absolute worst I just wait a couple months and try again. And to think when I was younger I was horrified when it was shorter than waist-length. So freeing to just try stuff out.

Hi Brad. I have something called trichotillomania which means when I get stressed I pull out my hair (I’ve had it for about 3 years so far and I can’t stop), and I always feel scared to go get my hair cut because my hair has some patches and is a lot thinner than it used to be (you can’t usually tell if you just saw me on the street but hairdressers will be able to notice). Cause it’s really stigmatized I used to pretend I just had alopecia (to the extent my mum took me to the doctor and I stayed completely silent about it so I’m actually diagnosed with alopecia lol. She knows now though), but I was wondering if you’d ever had a client with trich, whether it affected the haircut at all or recommendations for hiding patches? (I’m only 16 so I don’t yet have the confidence to leave them on show) Thank you so much, and I love your content it always brings a smile to my face :)

Isabelle ♡ A hair stylist will definitely be able to help :) They will know how and where to cut to make sure the exposed areas aren't as noticeable (if that's your goal) :) They will also give you styling tips/recommendations, and possibly even mention some hair pieces or extensions that you can use to fill in some areas or add bulk. You can even buy hair ties that are in a messy bun style. They make your hair look muuuch thicker and give more body :) There's also the option of colouring your scalp where there are bald patches, to help it look like it blends in with the rest of your hair :)

Hey honey, I just wanted to come here in support. I'm 32 now but have had different issues most of my life with depression and a personality disorder etc. Fun side effects of this include, for me, dermatillomania. I pick my lips and the skin on my thumbs a lot, and I 100% understand the stigma and embarrassment. I've worked on getting a better hold of my derma the past couple of years but it's still a struggle because sometimes I don't even realize I'm doing it. Eventually you will learn to ignore the stigma but I know how it felt when I was your age when your confidence is already shaky etc. Hang in there. ❤ As far as getting your hair cut goes, you DESERVE IT. Go! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Any GOOD hair stylist will listen to your truth and not judge you. Good hair stylists have seen it all and take joy in making people feel good about themselves in any situation. They could give you tips for taking care of your scalp and hair for growth and make sure to cut your hair according to any bare/thin patches you might have now or might get, so something versatile. Look around at reviews and find a good salon. Take care of yourself and the more you do stuff like that, the easier it will get :)

Hey, I have something similar too that is causing my hair to thin a bunch. I don't pull on my hair, I pick at my skin. I pick at my face and on my scalp, mostly my scalp. There are scars and scabs all over my head and my sister is always like wtf when she sees me, because my hair has thinned to the point where my scalp is visible. I know it's not easy to live with, but you aren't alone

My stylist is so incredible, and during Covid I didn’t get my hair done at all. I made sure to reach out to her to let her know I wasn’t doing monsterous things to it at home nor was I seeing anyone else, just letting it grow out and doing the least amount of damage possible. She literally saved my wedding hair by coming through for me as a stranger the week of my wedding because I got scammed by the original person I had booked. Been going to her ever since cause she has never done me wrong and she’ll tell you if what you want is going to be difficult/super costly/look awful on you then suggest alternatives that will look much better and last longer. She knows I am very low maintenance with my hair and she always takes that into account.

Personally I think the girl with blonde hair that her hair looked better and suited her more with the bob than when her hair was longer. It made her hair look thicker, framed her face and suited her more. The girl who shaved her head she really rocked the shaved head (no2) hair cut and it really suited her. She has a really pretty face that can pull off the shaved look. I bet her friends and family were shocked but once they got over the initial shock I bet they loved it also and told her how fantastic she looked? I was so expecting the video to show the girls looking awful afterwards BUT they both looked fantastic.

Ok, but also thank you Brad for continuously doing this content. A lot of KZfaqrs lose interest in doing (some might say the same) similar content. But I find a sense of security in knowing you keep reacting to people ruining their hair. And also keeping the energy. Even though we can all see you yourself is evolving, obviously, and changing. And like people change, interests change, some things we found exciting become boring to us. I can understand that. So I appreciate this.
