I worked for a Korean woman that owned a salon (which I later managed). There was a Korean woman that was my aged that worked there as well. I learned SO MUCH. The education and training they receive in Korea is FAAARRR more advanced than anything we receive in the U.S. I was fortunate enough to learn some of the techniques from the other Korean stylist. She had the digital machine like the one in Guy Tangs video and the last one you showed. I assisted with a lot of the perms she performed on her Asian clientele. It was very involved. Again, I was fortunate to have those opportunities to learn more advanced techniques. It is very involved. There is a lot to learn. Asian hair is some of the most difficult hair to work with. I could go on and on about what we did, different techniques, products, clients, their hair, what most desire for their hair….SO MUCH! It’s incredible. I cannot express how much I appreciate their culture and how incredibly grateful I am that I was given the trust to learn what I did.

I feel like they would need to have you sign a paper certifying that you're not pregnant or wearing nipple piercings before they hook you up to this thing.

The client definitely cares when you tell them their ends are dry and crusty.. 😭

This just looks like a modern version of the old school perm machines they used back in the 40’s/50’s. Those ones were admittedly a little scarier to look at though.

Me: never heard of Korean digital perks. But since it’s a Brad Mondo reacts video, I am totally here for it! 💗

I have been getting digital perms and straights for over 20 years and can honestly tell you that they can literally give you whatever look you want. Also, you really don’t need to dry your hair. You can air dry it and just twist it a few times with your fingers and it will look stunning. Same with the straight.

It still blows my mind that people pay money to have some texture, when I spent my entire life hating my curls. Now I love them!

Okay, I'm 247 years old but I can actually remember when we had those strange looking perm machines in this country. Each curler was attached to a cord that was attached to a machine and enough heat was generated to "set" the curl. I never had my hair done on one of those machines; I just saw them in salons. I did a double take when I saw that perm machine in the first part of this video. Takes me WAAAAY back. I've heard that there's nothing new under the sun and THIS certainly isn't new. It may be new in Korea but the last one I saw in this country was in the mid-60's. I think on the ones in this country the curler was actually a part of the machine but on the Korean model the curlers are separate. How tight the curl is depends on how long you leave the curler in. Just take them out sooner if you want a loose curl and leave them in longer if you want a tight curl. I never thought I would ever see one of these monstrosities again.

I’ve had this done several times. In the states, I’ve payed between $180-250 for medium length hair and this process takes 5-7 hours to do. The results have always been worth it to me since it looks so natural.

i got a perm in Korea and it was exactly like the 3rd person i never had such beautiful hair not damaged at all. i had virgin hair tho and my hairdresser legit had me reply to a questionnaire to make sure my hair could take it. he refused to do a perm on my friends damaged hair, really professional! it was not even expensive! i’ll do it again in a heartbeat. it lasted for more than a year too, truly magical

😂I died laughing when Brad almost falls out of his chair at the end and reacts the way he did. I watched it atleast five times. Love this video and the Korean Perm. And Brad, you have a stellar personality that just draws my attention to you so easily. You're awesome.

I got a digital perm done a few years ago and it was the ONLY time I was happy with a perm. It kept the shape pretty long too. But the process also took FOREVER!!!

I got a digital perm on my virgin hair so I wouldn't have to do much with my hair when travelling for business, and it was the most amazing hair I've ever had. Looked great, so easy to maintain.

I've always hated my naturally curly hair. But after seeing what people do to themselves just to get the curly hair I have every day makes me appreciate it a little bit more... It's still a pain in the ass though😂

Those perms came out beautifully. However, I must point out they were done on Asian hair, which is thicker and is known for being able to withstand a ton of treatment. If I was to have that last perm (deconstruct/reconstruct the hair bonds, twist, heat steam, brush and set) done to me, my hair would be fried. 😊
