Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict (SRSG) Virginia Gamba in an interview at UNHQ gave an overview of the untenable situation for Haitian youth. She spoke about the need to go to Haiti to meet with gang leaders and members, as soon as access and security allow.
Gamba stressed the importance of providing police with the tools to deal with youth gang members to encourage change.
She also underscored the need for a comprehensive long-term regional support plan spanning three decades

"deprived of a normal life", and whose fault is that, Ms. Gamba, given the United Nations' ongoing support for what began as a coup planned and executed by the U.S. and Canada, then involved UN troops often violently suppressing Haitians' aspirations for self-determination, and continues as UN support for the U.S./Canada "non-UN" intervention plan to deny Haitians a popularly elected government? Yes, Ms. Gamba, go to Haiti and lecture Haitians on what's best for Haitians.
