The Haiti They Don't Want You To See Part 2. In Haiti, I travel to theCitadelle Laferrière, one of Haiti's Greatest structural achievements to learn more about Henri Christophe Fortress and Haitian Culture. The Citadelle Laferrière is a largely early 19th-century fortress built to protect the Country from Haiti invading countries
The Citadelle Laferrière and Sans-Souci Palace near Milot, a commune in the Nord department of Haiti, 12 miles south of Cap-Haïtien

Totally different, you wouldn't be kicking out the government to start a new one, ypu have infrastructure in place and wouldn't also destroy it, all you'd be doing is declaring yourself independent from USA As citizens you'd all pay taxes which today they don't to pay for roads schools and such. Increase tourism with all inclusive, today there's zero all inclusives and you'd have to increase sales to other countries of PR sugar coffee milk or whatever else you can sell. But PR citizen don't want to pay any kind of real-estate or any taxes. So they'll never vote to be independent

@Nicole Fernandez Have you even been to Haiti? I'm sure not. White Americans show you the worst places in Haiti with the worst possible angles to make it look worse than it is. They won't show you all the mansions with their pool in their backyard along with all the servants it takes to keep their homes well maintained. The 1st thing you hear on the news is how it's the poorest country in the western hemisphere. You never ask yourself why is this the information they are reading from the teleprompter when the news is about an earthquake. White supremacist will always hate Haiti & show Haiti in the worst possible light because we beat them down & kicked them out. Have some common sense & ask yourself why? I didn't see anything horrible in the video. So please tell me what's so horrible about Haiti? I'll wait⌚⏱🕛⏳

I grew up with Haitians here in NYC and in South Florida. They are some of the most beautiful people (inside and out). It sickens me every time I think of how they were crippled into poverty by the French AND the U.S. What France did to Haiti, is the same thing they did to Burkina-Faso in the 1980s. In addition to an independence debt, they had Thomas Sankara assassinated. Haitians should always keep their heads up for being the FIRST free black republic to liberate themselves from slavery. I have 🇯🇲 ancestry but will forever be proud of Haiti!! 🇭🇹

@@Sunshyn3Sam it's also good to see you don't keep that Jamaican Haitian rivalry going. It's silly in my opinion because we are all fighting a bigger enemy. Pan Africanism is the only way to build group economics and build. Haiti sparked Pan Africanism by fighting for the freedom of Blacks in the Americas. Garvey, a Jamaican, spearheaded it but he pushed it in the US and Afro Americans ran with him strong. The diaspora when it comes together, is no joke! Like Africa, God has blessed Haiti with the beauty of the Hills & Mountains. Makes me praise God for the Majestic designer that He is. And the People of Haiti are so very kind. Its sad what has happened to the People & their Country. One day God will step in & save his People. The view from atop of that Building was just awesome! Thanks for taking us who have never visited Haiti on your Journey!! I've learned a few things.

Thank you so much for showing the world that Haiti is not just Port-Au-Prince wiith all those corrupted politicians who are literally drowning the life out of the haitian people. I’m glad to be back with you looking at my beautiful country, so rich that the so called friendly countries are trying to make us leave to work in their factories so that they can ravage our resources.

FACTS!!! After the Haitian Revolution all world powers (read slave holders) isolated Haiti and demonized Haitians out of fear there'd be more successful slave rebellions throughout the western hemisphere. Plantation owners in the American south heavily lobbied Thomas Jefferson and subsequent American presidents to economically and diplomatically isolate Haiti.

Funny how most Americans think of Haiti as the founding place for Voodoo. But as you mentioned, it originated in Benin, West Africa. Is it still practiced in Benin today?

I am from Jamaica and I did not know there was such lush vegetation in haiti. The image of there gives me the loving feeling of being home. Just the infrastucture is missing but I love the people. I have haitian friends here in Jamaica but now I see it's the lack of infrastucture and opportunity that they were running from but definitely not from the scenery or people. Loving what I see. So surprised.

What they did with Haiti too when they got their independence was cut import and export. They made it hard to sell their bananas and other products. They wanted them to suffer. And the French still taking tax from Haiti.

I remember learning about this in school. The slaves came up with a plan to kill all the slave owners at the same time. Than on a certain night while they were sleeping they whacked all the slave owners. The French sent people to take back the island but were out numbered and couldn't take back control so they fled and let the slaves take it over.

Shout out to Haiti! Let's keep in mind these were former African people that overthrew the French, Then established Hati. Hati is like it is due to the unfair and illegal financial policies by the French. Hati would be one of the richest countries in the world, had the sugar economy continued. The majority of the sugar / rum / tobacco of the world was produced in Haiti but the colonizers put a strangle hold on the market, start purchasing those goods from other countries, thereby forcing Hati into economic peril. That along with the ridiculous french debt hamstrung Hati and it has suffered every since. Glad Haiti led the way and inspired revolts in other countries as well.

The leaders of Haiti need to call for a period of repentance nation wide.... when the people of Nineveh in the bible repented God preserved them. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will heal their land."
