My son has been killing me with a smashing kneecut by going all the way around when was trying a similar counter. I'm SO glad you posted this because I'd been kneeing him foward but I was not getting to his back because there didn't seem like there was time and he'd circle all the around to the other side. Hopefully this will help me get up quicker while trapping his leg there for long enough for me catch his back. Thank you!

Love these techniques. As a blue belt I have to watch this over and over but more importantly listen to everthing he is saying. The funny thing is when I explain certain things to white belts I find myself repeating what he says almost verbatim. I laugh to myself because I almost feel like it's some sort of plagiarism!

What if, with the hand that is defending the underhook, you make a grip on the pants near the ankle, do you think that would defend the underhook? And help sweeping? Its always good to Watch your videos, cheers

One other thing I do in quarter is hold the knee so he can't knee cut or turn knee towards mount.

What when the opponent puts a strong cross face on you and you can´t arrive at dog fight situation because he is sliding the knee?.
