@@WestDesertShooter I live in Pennsylvania and there's not many places to shoot over 1000 yards , so I built my first 6.5 bolt action rifle this summer and had to convert 308 to 6.5 and those 107 shoot nice at 500 yards for me , I have loaded the 140s and 142s and they shoot great but I'm getting better groups at 500 than the heavier bullets .

Hello Logan, thanks for making these videos on the UPR10! You're the only KZfaqr to have performed this extensive amount of shooting and reviewing on the UPR10. I wanted to ask, what you though about the smoothness of the action, is it comparable to standard bolt action rifles or is it smoother and comparable to custom made actions. Thank you

@davidjohnson3748
@davidjohnson3748 Жыл бұрын
I've purchased the UPR10 in 6.5 CM and I'd say the action is not as smooth as other production rifles. This is due to the bolt having to cycle the trigger for the next round. Also, there is a detent in the closed bolt position that is designed to hold the bolt firmly in place but this also affects the smoothness. Overall, you need to run the bolt like you mean it - with authority.

Have you tried the Athlon Helos gen2 6-24x56 34mm tube. I would like your opinion on this scope over the Arken. Is it worth the $150.00 for the clearer glass and lockable turrets.

Can you do a video comparing a bolt action rifle vs. a semi auto rifle for accuracy. Exact same distances, same ammo, etc. Yes, we all know bolt action should be more accurate, but it would be interesting to see exactly how much more accurate they are.

Great shooting & I my Arken G2 6-24, after about 140 rnds. seems to be a great scope for the money, time will tell. As for the upper/rifle - really cool idea, but, aluminum receiver is not for me,.....too bad they don't make a steel option - I would get one in a heart-beat.
@WestDesertShooter

This is 7000 series aluminum. It’s incredibly tough. Steel would weigh a lot more. You’re the first one to say you want that

@@240SXsocalguy I just rewatched that part of the video, he says the stock is $100, the forend is $100 (which is the pricing on the website), so they cost $50 after subtracting the $150 gift card. Then you have to add $250 for the chassis section itself, which makes the whole package $300. I think this is what he meant, he just didn't mention the price of the chassis segment.

I purchased a Nikon FX1000 when they first came out, that was Nikon's answer to the precision world and supposedly the best scope Nikon ever built. A couple years later they stopped building scopes. Nikon has been building scopes for decades, but no longer. If nothing else, Arken is built in the US, very clear glass and precision tracking. I received my first Arken 6-24 a few weeks ago, replaced the FX1000 on a AR10 6.5. After first range trip with that Arken, now ordering 2 more to replace Vortex scopes on bolt rifles.

There is no such thing as a 3 round group. A group is minimum 5 rounds, while three shots are three zero confirmation shots. A good group is 9 rounds with a 10th for good measure.

@@Wickedtrucker75 You developed good loads, that's a fact, not opinion, just the same as statistics are not opinions. Statistically the minimum round count for grouping is 5 rounds. I don't like it, especially with ammo prices and when a good group gets ruined by a flyer, but it's a fact. Last time I was out I shoot a good 5 round group, but the other four 5 round group were crap. Now I'll have to go back and start at step one.
@BigSmartArmed
@BigSmartArmed 3 жыл бұрын
@@WestDesertShooter They were indeed, and I replied to a wrong post. To me that's the weird part, you printed 3 rounds on paper while sending out 5 hit rounds on steel. I figure it's because you were short on time. I print 3 rounds to zero to center, 5 rounds on paper to print for consistency, and 3 hit rounds on steel to confirm true. Last time I was out shooter to the left of me was shooting a 6.5 CM and were were tagging steel. I was behind a 7.62. While we both hit, the 6.5CM shooter was noticeably quicker on recovery. If we were shooting for time and score, I would have lost.
