Why you don't have one million subscribers is beyond me! Your one of the best if not the best. Your camera/drone work, your laughing (mostly at yourself) and your love for that dog sets you apart from the rest! I'll add your fabricating skill is truly something to watch. I HOPE your passing this talent on to someone, we lose to my old-timers and the skills they possess. I'm not saying your old, I'm 62. Who did you learn from? Maybe a video of how you go started? The who, what and where it all started.

My first pickup back in the 60's was a 50 Dodge I got for (2) two packs of baler twine. I came back home after a winter on a drlg rig to find my Dad had whacked it in half to make a trailer for his tractor.

I call them Split Rim and they can be very dangerous, with a tire cage and some common sense their really good rims. Changed many of them when I was in the Army....

Im gigglin about the wire tow rope. I towed a 67' Cadillac 58 miles with a piece of pipe and doubled up romex house wire inside it, with my 65 VW camper. Don't under estimate the wire!! hahaha

being someone with the same truck, I got suckered down the rabbit hole about split rim designs. On these trucks we have a two piece locking ring rim NOT a split rim. The rims that are referred as split rims/widow makers are the Firestone rh-5 that came on a lot of Ford's and a few other vehicle. these dodges have a Goodyear branded rim and were on dodges, internationals and another manufacturer I can't recall.

Stuck flathead motors are not usually a big deal... But, when you try to vacuum out the rust and suck out half of the valves -- that is not good. Lots of good parts though. May she live on as a donor so that others may live... Plus, there is always the chance that you will run across an old Dodge that has a serviceable drivetrain and the body parts are just rusted and beat to death... I have always had a soft spot in my heart for these old Dodge trucks. We had a number of them around the farm when I was a kid. !950 to 1954 models that we drove the wheels off of until they absolutely would not go any longer, then replaced with another similar truck to keep on going...

For a sec, I though you were gonna swap the 5-cylinder flatty into it in the last 17 minutes remaining - LOL. But that neighbor kid is getting one helluva project to start his wrenching days. Thanks for the revive result. Sometimes you win and sometimes not so. I could tell when something clogged up your vacuum. Didn't look good from my angle.

If it makes you feel better every vehicle I drag home has a hopelessly siezed boat anchor of an engine too haha. Apparently it's common on those old Dodges for water to leak through the clamshell hood, and the water pools up around the spark plugs and eventually seeps into the engine, turning the insides to dust.

Hi Brent, I have about 46 years all around like yourself. My finding. Usually with the engines being seized. Has to do with the belt being rusted in the pulleys. Ounces I cut the belt the harmonic turns. Great show excellent content. Wishing you all the best. Joe

🤣🤣🤣 Damnit Brent! Murphy’s law in full effect! That is definitely crazy though, the carb dosen’t look like it has any signs of water contamination and neither did the oil. So how in the H-E double hockey sticks did the valves get so rusty that the ol Hoover could vacuum them up… inquiring minds want to know.😂😂 Dig the hot rods at the show man. Keep on keeping on!😎💯

Water got in the engine because they got it hot enough to blow a head gasket and at that point they were done with it and pulled it out in the field. With the head gasket blown the cylinders took in water where some escaped through the exhaust some out the intake and the worn valve guides provided enough clearance for the rusting to begin. Given time and the extreme temperature swings in Manitoba you see the results when the head came off.

I just got the same vehicle with the split rims and a seriously frozen engine.... Hasn't run since 1978 (46 yrs) Hate those old split rims, buying a used set of steel rims, cutting the centers out of the splits and welding them into the new used steel rims.

Duuude..i tried doing that " backward push start" on drinking day...fell back and the volkswagen door stamped my face and broke a chomper...should of had my road dog behind the wheel....i really dig your channel...
