Hi Mark nice video. If I wanted to clean the glass visual piece next to the gauge, does that just unscrew? I have same multiport as in your video or close to it.

Mark, first I want to thank you so much. Spending my whole vacation week on my inground pool problems….🙄( leaks to find, etc), decided to change the pressure gage, and….overthight, tiny crack in the housing, tried silicone it, no good, anything else you suggest as a patchy job? Beside changing the whole housing on my Hayward filter? Thanks in advance from Montreal, Canada
@HallmarkPoolSupplies11 ай бұрын
If the multiport housing is cracked then you need to replace the multiport. The valve is under pressure and patching it is temporary at best, and usually does not work. Thanks for watching.

Love your channel but you should never tighten the gauge by the face use the brass flats so you don’t rack the gauge

Hi, where I install a pressure gauge in my multiport hayward SPO715G50M? it came with no pressure gauge?
@HallmarkPoolSupplies4 ай бұрын
The pressure gauge can be installed on the side of the multiport. On some filter systems the gauge can be installed on the filter tank itself. Thanks for watching.

So, do we need to move the lever to CLOSE before removing the old one or will this not get water and/or pressure as long as the pump/filter is off? Thanks for sharing!!
@HallmarkPoolSupplies3 ай бұрын
As long as the system is off you will be fine. Thanks for watching.
@d.j.scribe75843 ай бұрын
@@HallmarkPoolSupplies I will say, there's no mention that water will leak/pour out of the port between changes. I hope this is fine and I didn't ruin anything. The water valve was shut off and the head was moved to CLOSED - still had water pouring out.

My Hayward multi port gauge opening is leaking due to treads being ruined on the multi port no matter how much tape I put on it it will still leak and suggestions.
@HallmarkPoolSupplies2 жыл бұрын
If the multi port is cracked or the threads are stripped the best way to repair is to replace your valve. Sometimes sealants can be used but this is a temporary fix.

You have to be careful and try to tap out the broke piece. You should be able to remove with a flat head screwdriver and/or a pair of needle nose pliers.

so you don't need to release the pressure valve on the filter first, before unscrewing the old pressure gauge?

@@HallmarkPoolSupplies do you have any idea what size pressure gauge is on the intex 16" sandfilter? Iv already bought two that are too big! The pressure gauge will let you know when to backwash. If you go by visual reference then you can plug it, but a gauge is best.

If this is a new gauge then make Teflon tape was wrapped around the threads or it’s possible you may over tighten the gauge. Check for any cracks in the valve body.
