@@tomfitzpatrick7335 That was actually already supposed to be a film years ago, which was cancelled. I've always said it should've been 'The Shape Returns.' Not only is it the title for the main theme anyway, but it would've fit especially well with the titles of the next two films and would've helped separate the Blumhouse trilogy. The Shape Returns, The Shape Kills, The Shape Ends. Has a better ring to it, in my opinion

No Dave, because he's a known comedic actor and comedic writer and has never written a horror screenplay before. It was surprising to see. But let me guess, you saw that he had a screenplay credit and thought, immediately, "This is going to be the best Halloween movie since the original!" Nice try though.

Just got out of the theater. It was very well done, and pays tribute to the original while being its own thing. The “new Laurie” is very likeable, and the movie takes its time building up Michael’s lore until he regains his mask and continues what he started. There are also tons of tributes to the other sequels laced throughout the movie, containing the spirit of the franchise to make up for the erased timeline. And it earns its R rating!

The fact they reference the original ending by having Laurie thrown off the balcony and when Michael turns around, she disappears, was a GREAT homage to the original. Well made film.

The opening credits was an homage to the original in reverse AND a metaphor for the plot. Michael was old and docile,then suddenly revived back to his younger days

I LOVE these Cinemassacre Video videos. It's the VHS design. It makes me feel like a teenager again. :D I think its the only thing I love almost as much as the Nerd or James & Mike Mondays.

Laurie makes money off journalists/podcasters paying to talk to her about her experience. I loved that aspect. She's able to amass this fortress and armory through her trauma which eventually gives her the skill to actually go toe to toe with Michael. It's a really nice, natural character arc for her.

My favorite part is when THAT GUY is on the ground, staring up at Michael, and finally tells him to "say something". And Michael responds by stomping his head in, as James said, "like a watermelon." In my theater, some laughed, others shrieked or were grossed out. Me? I just sat there with a satisfied, sadistic smile on my face. That moment pleased me. ^_^

I just watched this last night and thought it was amazing. The sdtk had elements of "Big Trouble In Little China", "In The Mouth Of Madness" and a few others. The references were constant and pleasing especially when it came to "Voyagers" and "Repo Man". There's so much more to it. I think it's perfect and also nice that Carpenter isn't resigned to doing old people stuff.

Halloween 2 is still my favorite of the Halloween sequels. I haven’t seen this one yet. I think Laurie and Michael being related was really interesting, and was hoping they would keep it in this one.

I think my favorite reference was Allyson's costume towards the end of the film, and how it resembles Laurie's outfit in the original. The way they did that was really subtle and really clever. Also, it was John's son Cody who who helped him with the music, John Carpenter doesn't have a daughter.

I think what they were trying to go for in terms of Myers' immortality is that. He can get hurt, he can get killed, but unlike a human being, he's pure evil and it would take a hell of a lot more than what Laurie threw at him to destroy him. I bet if they do a continuation of this, it's gonna be like terminator, where he loses more body parts, but still keeps going.

I honestly love how he isn’t really drawn towards Laurie or her family. She thinks he is. But he’s not. He’s really just wandering around killing randoms until he’s driven towards her place where there’s no one else around. He’s drawn towards Haddonfield more than anything.

zachary S yea not at all. He ends up there and it’s the only house around him lol. I’m a huge fan of him just wandering the town committing random acts of murder.

I am just going to say this. The Mentally insane are super strong. Age does little change that.

When Michael bends over to look in window with all the pumpkins and that quick tune plays of something mysterious happening. That was awesome to hear again during certain scenes and when Laurie disappears after falling from the window and the tide turns against Michael .

When it came to the opening credits i was kind of hoping to see the skull inside the pumpkin again, But still it was cool that this movie went full old school,
