Also remember cultivating corn with a John Deere B at 15 years old hour after hour till I was the color of bronze in the hot sun 1965. I can still smell the dust.

I used the 4020 and front mount 4 row cultivator. Corn was fun after it got a little bigger and you could go faster.

Ya make me cry. I spent summers on uncle's dairy farm as a teen. He used a different green tractor but my blood is John deere green. Thanks for the memories and the ride along.

I miss those days, picking corn on haloween, the smells were awesome, love the old Johhnie popper too!!
@AgWildNebraska7 жыл бұрын
yeah in a cab you don't get to smell that stuff! Gas, exhaust, corn, fresh dirt. Just the AC.

You'd be right. Grandpa's 620
@mikezahnow16054 жыл бұрын
Grandpa used wd allis to pick corn with a one row wood brothers picker. I remember as a young kid riding in the wagon when he was picking. When planting I tied a wagon behind the planter and rode behind all day lol.
@AgWildNebraska4 жыл бұрын
That sounds like it would be fun. There wasn't much for Allis around here. Mostly the two shades of green and some red.

Such a beautiful sound. Could listen to that John Deere all day.

Thanks for watching. Used to hear it all the time around here. Several neighbors had two cylinders. Now I think this is the last in the neighborhood.

We had a 620 also. Never forget cultivating with it on those hot summer days no cab no umbrella no radio just you with your own thoughts 8 row front mounted culivator that was heavy for the fron end. Lot of sun burns and sweat
@AgWildNebraska4 жыл бұрын
Wow an 8 row. That'd be something. We had a 4 row. Used to put a 227 picker on this one too but that was before my time.
@jerrydewitt85854 жыл бұрын
@@AgWildNebraska yes it was something. Dad converted it from 6 row wide to 8 - 28" inch lol it worked back in day when invented everything on your own

Paul Rush we have a 60 too. But it doesn't get used much... It's probably been 5 years since it's run.

As he expanded over the years He eventually bought a 620 with single front end, "A" with single front end. 720 Wide and 730 D Wide and 40 for small cultivator

Paul Rush my grandpa bought this 620 new in 1957. I have the original bill of sale, the cancelled check, the delivery checklist and the original brochure. He traded in a 60 and got a B and this 620.

What a great video. The John Deere 620 was the most versatile tractor around.
@AgWildNebraska6 жыл бұрын
Matt Repp grandpa bought this one new in '57. I don't know how many hours it has on it but they used it for everything. Used to put a mounted picker on it, plow, cultivate, mow, plant.... You name it.

If you look when I'm down close the the end the combine is parked on you'll see a bunch of blank spots. That's where the gophers dug my seed up.
@rickiemckillip81247 жыл бұрын
Ag Wild I saw that when you were going through the field
@AgWildNebraska7 жыл бұрын
I have trouble with gophers and pheasants digging up the seed. usually I scatter shell corn out so they leave mine alone.
