Adventure time would have a rough start for this channel since the earlier episodes are just wacky. But there's SO MUCH good content later on. Plus we have the Distant Lands and Fiona spin offs.

As someone that worked a summer in a store where children constantly pressed and started the talking toys, the store employee is the most relatable character of the episode.

Good choice having this drop before episode 11 so it releases right on Halloween. I love _Summerween!_ The idea of Halloween in summer is great, and the monster is really creative. I also love how for a Halloween episode, it's nowhere near as creepy as the show gets.

a few spoiler-free things 1. The flyer for the party was supposed to say "bottles will be spun" Disney didn't like that for no reason, so Alex Hirsch replaced it with not S+P approved to be a justified dick. They responded with "not S+P approved has been approved by S+P." Screw Disney. 2. One of the writers just wanted a character named Gorny, so they threw him in there to up the stakes 3. When the kids run away screaming from Stan, Disney really didn't like that, so added some shorts in-between shots. I like to imagine those weren't there when the kids saw him. It would be scarring for life.

I'd side with everyone promoting Adventure Time, save only one possible caveat, which is that there's a LOT of show there to watch. If you do Adventure Time, you're committing yourself to at least ten seasons with over 280 episodes, and that's ignoring the various specials and spin offs. So only commit to it if you're ready for that!

Adventure time as such a good show I'd highly reccomend

5:10 - fun fact, we had a golden retriever called Jake when I was growing up in the 90s, (he was born in the late 80s, well before Adventure Time was a thing), and more recently, my mam got another golden retriever puppy, and called him Finn. She has no knowledge of Adventure Time whatsoever - she just liked the name Finn, so that lining up is total coincidence =P

One of the things I really like about this episode is how Mabel talks about how she's upset because she didn't realize that this was already their last Halloween. At its core, Gravity Falls is all about the relationship between siblings, and how it changes over time as they grow up. This episode is one of the ones that showcases that really well. Edit: and yes, Summerween is because they wanted to do a Halloween episode, but the entire run of the show (both seasons) takes place over the course of a single summer, so they had to invent a copycat holiday to do a Halloween episode lol

Kenny doesn't care what religion or sexuality or gender or anything his kids are. But they will enjoy candy corn or they will not be welcome.

At the end of the day, Summerween isn't about candy or costumes. Or even scaring people. It's a day when the whole family can get together at one place and celebrate what really matters...PURE EVIL! 😈😈😈

Me 10 years ago. I love the "spirited Away " theme of this episode, and its so scary. Me now: Dipper you were going to ditch Mabel on y'alls favorite holiday, that y'all spent all day planing for, to go meet a girl, already in a relationship, at a party that wasn't even going to start until after trick or treating was over? Doing both was completely possible! Your supossed to be the one who is good at Planning/schedules!

4:06 there's a joke in the flyer with a story. Alex wanted it to say something like bottles will be spined. So the S and P ( standard and practice the guys who said what is allowed in TV) didn't let him put it. So he was pissed, so they put " not s and p approved" and when they try to tell them not too, he responded: "Why?" So they had to allowed it

oh adventure time please 🙏 also i recently found out, niki yang (bmo in AT and candy in GF) has also done some storyboards and writing for those shows (plus more) which blew my mind. i never knew she did more than voice acting

adventure time is definitely a commitment since it’s so long and the first few seasons are mostly just wacky shenanigans, but i’d definitely enjoy seeing you guys react to and discuss it! there aren’t nearly enough adventure time reactions, and you guys are some of my favorite reactors, so i’d love to see it. the show is so fun and the lore is top tier, especially with the later seasons and spin-offs, distant lands and fionna and cake!! :))

Adventure Time would be a long commitment, but definitely think it'd be a great reaction series, just gotta be ready for it to take up a chunk of your schedule for a couple years

Adventure time is a really good choice for a show especially since it’s has ALOT of lore, story, and plot and it’s actually a lot better than gravity falls. The only thing that kinda sucks is that season 1 doesn’t include a lot of lore like season 2-10. It’s the best CN show btw

Adventure time would be nice to see because it starts so weird I want to see your reactions but specially Montana's because we're going to get to see her brain adapting to the madness (Kenny's too since he hasn't seen it in a long time but he might come somewhat prepared) and how long it will take for your brains to roll with that madness

The bit where Soos puts batteries in the toy is always so funny. ... Anyway, on rewatching this, it really stands out to me how Dipper is in such a hurry to grow up. That's really the central flaw of his character, his crush on Wendy is part of that too (wanting to seem mature to impress an older kid). People don't really seem to talk about how that's unhealthy as much as they go on about Mabel being childish.

4:07 Take notice of the line on the flyer: "Not S&P Approved". It's a joke that Alex Hirsch worked in when Disney's Standards and Practices department (S&P) took issue with the original line, "Bottles will be spun", because they thought it was too mature. Hirsch was pretty fed up with them by them and told them to change it to "Not S&P Approved". They objected once, Hirsch stuck to this, and this became the line.

The last time I went trick or treating I was a freshman in highschool. I remember being so excited to so it with a group of friends for the first time, and there were so many adults that gave us dirty looks and one house even refused to give us candy. It was overall a fun night, but I was really sad when I realized my favorite holiday would never be the same.

Steven Universe and Adventure Time would be some good shows to react to! Steven is my favorite of the two....

I love that you guys got this out on Halloween too. for those keeping up the cryptogram in the credits says "YILFTSG GL BLF YB SLNVDLIP: GSV XZMWB." which translates to: "BROUGHT TO YOU BY HOMEWORK: THE CANDY." I think I'll comment the cryptograms from here on out.

I actually had someone say 'arent you a little old for this' one year and it sucked. I was taller then everyone my age. Spent the next three years, following my friends while they trick or treated but i didnt go up to any doors anymore

adventure time is a big commitment, but it is really something special. i think montana would have a lot of interesting things to say about it. the episodes are shorter, so maybe two eps a video is something to think about if the number of them is intimidating. i would totally love watching you watch adventure time!! itd be a lot of fun

Genuine appreciation for NOT cutting to that one advert jumpscare that Montana was describing. Lesser channels would have, and I would have hated them for it.

I have an aunt that lives in a town that doesn’t do trick or treating on Halloween night but the last Saturday of October. I’d get to go trick or treating twice, which means twice as much candy, which my mom loved because any chocolate candies I didn’t like she got. One time, it was near the end of the night and we came to this house that dumped AN ENTIRE BOWL OF CANDY into my bag!! They told us they were finishing up so the last kid who came to their house would get every last bit of candy in the bowl. Best trick or treating haul ever!!!!

ABSOLUTELY i'd love to see adventure time reactions from you guys, but the sheer number of episodes might be a little daunting for one a week so if you go ahead with it do whatever feels most comfortable for you (multiple episodes per video or per week or usual schedule etc)

Mable clings to their Twin identity more _because_ she has an easier time making friends. Dipper is only trying to pull away from these things because he wants to impress other people so bad, and Mable never worries about that, so she doesn't look at any of the goofy things they do together as embarrassing. Dipper feels like he has to separate a little from her if he wants a chance at ever making other connections, but she doesn't have that same problem.

i think the payoff to watching adventure time is worth it! i would absolutely love to see your reactions to it, especially seasons 5-10 and the spin offs. there are over 250 episodes though. if you uploaded one episode a week it would take years to get through it, so maybe you could combine two episodes in one video? idk lol

Halloween-esque episodes of any series (live-action or animated) usually bore me because they usually don't do much with the premise. Sure, the characters might put on some costumes and have a monster-of-the-week adventure while out getting candy, but that's probably the safest and laziest route to go with a holiday that is meant to challenge kids' wits and push them outside their comfort zone. Thankfully, _Gravity Falls_ refuses to go the ordinary route by giving us a horror themed monster that is actually a manifestation of all the unwanted candy kids throw away and the psychological harm that can come from being systematically rejected for being who you are. You also get a deeper look into Dipper and Mabel's viewpoints on being kids. Mabel wants to keep up their twin-themed costume tradition alive because she knows it won't last much longer and wants to enjoy these moments with her brother that has been her most supportive friend in her life. Meanwhile, you have Dipper still grappling with the awkward transition phase from young boy to teenager and wanting to shed the aspects of childhood that he thinks others see as "uncool." Pretty sure they'll both come to a mutually beneficial understanding on dressing up for this holiday when they're older and realize adult costume parties are even better than wandering around a dark neighborhood with an overstuffed candy bag. Also, Soos literally eating his way out of the Summerween Trickster continues the show's tradition of mixing comedic punchlines with horrifying implications.

I think an Adventure Time reaction would be fun, that show is so crazy.

The "Not S+P Approved" line on the party flier has a hilarious origin. Adventure Time isn’t a bad choice, but I’ve been dying for you two to watch BoJack Horseman or Steven Universe. It’s just so hard to compete with the more popular shows though. Oh well, I can wait as long as it takes.

Summerween is for all intents and purposes Halloween. The whole Sumerween is just a cheeky trick to be able to have a Halloween episode even though this whole story is supposed to take place over the summer holiday.

I loved the design and voice for the Trickster, and the "reveal" was so out of left-field, but so well telegraphed I kicked myself for not guessing it. Also, it's funny. My son doesn't like chocolate and has a peanut allergy. My daughter has a tree nut allergy (but not vice-versa). So, before any normal Halloween candy trading took place, they did trading on chocolate and pea/tree-nut lines first.
