It makes sense, the AI of the brutes in halo 3 is much better worked since they are the main enemy of the game, On the other hand, the Brutes' Halo Reach AI is much more simplified since in that game they have a secondary role.

They didn't size them up much if at all. They just improved their posture to make them less hunchback. Everything looks bigger because the viewpoint of the Spartan III (noble 6) is smaller than the SII's (chief) that you play as
