Notes. First, I forgot to show that Energy Sword assassinations do NOT use energy - all other Sword hits will use 10% per hit. Second, I don’t know the real reason why Hammers win clashes vs Swords; however, if you slow it down from different angles it looks like the Hammer itself blocks the full sword swing (which imo is kind of cool from a mechanics standpoint). Also, apparently if I like Halo 5’s multiplayer and sprint, I can't be a “true” Halo fan. I might make a video about this in the future ;) busy right now though. Until next time Spartans!

Aozolai hammers use an enrgy burst that kills in one swing a sward has to physically touch a spartan to damage or kill a hammer only has to do one burst of energy to instakill.

Aozolai only a hammer has access to increased range and damage your just slower with the hammer since all that power comes at a price of a heavy ranged melee wepon.

I really did not know that the Vorpal Talon had just as much lunge range as a Bane! The extra jump height was also cool. I think all the REQ sword types were pretty well made. They all have a unique set of characteristics that make them all stand out from each other.

its really hard to decide between the vorpal talon and the ravening silver, id say the ravening silver though just for the sole fact that in a head on clash the ravening will almost certainly win every time just cause of the swing speed

The Propert's Bane, giving Halo players trust issues since Halo 5. But seriously, I could believe the normal sword and even the Ravening Sliver lunges. We have those thruster packs on our backs, surely we could use them to lunge forward. But the Vorpal Talon and Prophet's Bane? That's some flying right there.

The one thing everyone forgets about the Vorpal Talon is that it actually has a built-in motion tracker, much like Linda's Nornfang sniper rifle, with the exception that the Vorpal Talon's built-in motion tracker is also present in the campaign.

Sword clashing is a neat mechanic Also didn't know about the extra jump height, the extended hover time on the one sword, or the spartan charge being a sword kill

Honestly, I just really love this game franchise. Now, I may not particularly like Halo 5, since I preferred the original's sense of pure, unbridled chaos fueling it's sense of "speed", but I enjoy it for what it is nonetheless.

With the proper footwork and timing, a competent sword user will beat your average hammer user 8 times out of ten. There is also a glitch that allows a sword weilder to trade with a hammer, though we're not entirely certain if this is caused solely by connection or something else. Edit: almost forgot. A regular hammer melee (as in, not the swing) will beat a sword lunge.

Competent sword versus competent hammer tends to be about 50/50.

Another cool fact about energy swords not found here is that the defenders in infected can pick up the infected energy sword if they assassinate the infected. I did it once just because I wanted to really assert my dominance, and then the sword dropped and I went on a frenzy. Since they didn't have shields I won every sword fight and I spent the whole match just running around the arena spartan charging infected until I slipped up and got stabbed myself.

Wolfmansman no. it has an airburst feature on air vehicles. if you get a charged shot and it's close to one it will explode.

You should compare the accuracy/range of a weapon while crouched vs while standing. I mainly want to know the difference for weapons like BR and Magnum but I wonder if it affects all weapons.

Joseph Burger Swords have range, speed and maneuverability while hammers have knock back, area of effect and are more useful against vehicles and tankier enemies.

I don't like h5 so I haven't played it in a while (found it boring compared to previous halos - h2 will always be a fav for both campaign and multiplayer for me) but I always enjoy these videos. I wish someone would have done this for MCC. so many mechanics like momentum and shit that would've been cool to see break downs on! keep it up, maybe h6 will be great and you'll be THE source for information!!!

Spartenbob117 sword clashing is still a thing, so is Sword vs. Gravity hammer, however, Regular punching version( with a regular weapon in hand) I think was removed.

the last part about the gravity hammer reminded me about how they buffed the range of the gravity hammer thus making the energy sword useless in Griffball :(

It's not the damage that is the problem, it's that they changed it so gravity hammer can 1 hit kill out of its Red Reticle Range.

Actually, energy swords can definitely beat gravity hammers if you distance yourself and time it correctly. After lots of Grifball, I can pretty much beat any 1v1 situation where I have energy sword and enemy has hammer

Alexis Alexander Yeah but Hammers do have a slight capability advantage in a straight out 1v1, since hammer swing can black swords whilst swords can't block hammer. But every encounter can be unique for sure

If you time your melee right you can cancel the hammer swing animation. I know this from experience and counted myself lucky.

I didn't get it either watching it the first time to be honest. Probably because the idea of someone willing to give up a fairly expensive power weapon cause they think someone else will be better able to use it at moment in a random public match would never even occur to me. Mind it's one of those things where if he DOES pick it up it's like 100% certainty he'll run around the corner, whiff, and then get insta killed so the other team can pick it up and then get like five kills with it...

I hate that the prophets bane is always invisible. It's cool and all but I don't think its actually canon that it has they feature and u want to actually see the blade. Never got to play the beta so I never got to see the blade and it sucks.
