Others say he remains on the mortal plain as some kind of specter. A vicious wraith who kills all Covenant soldiers that would dare intrude. While the UNSC, Humanity, may have their own name of him, The Covenant have one of their own. A name that, to this very day, sends shivers down the spines of their every soldier. This mission, this game always made me feel a lot more sad than any other Halo game. Just the hopelessness of the campaign is what really made you know that not everyone can be a survivor like Chief. Hell I think this final scene hit home a lot harder than Cotana's "death" in 4.

Noble's k/d must be insane

The opening scene in this mission is easily one of my top 5 Halo moments ever. The music perfectly sets the tone on what is about to happen. No words are spoken yet you can feel the final expression of Noble in his last moments. The Covenant set a horde to kill one man and they paid heavily for it.

The concussion blasts killed the shield at the same time a wraith blast came in, so he ate the wraith blast to the head. Owch.

This level made you human and a badass at the same time

I haven’t played this game in like, 5 years. And the piano and “Mission objective: Survive” gets my eyes watery still.

I love how the complex and diverse firefight devolves into one type of elite with two types of guns. I like to think that half the elite generals commanding ships in atmosphere decided that they alone should be the one to kill the invincible human demon, so they told the rest of their soldiers to fuck off, and then, in a fit of honor-induced insanity, suicidally charged head-on against a guy who’s killed dozens of their equals.

This mission just makes me remember about those two people during the WW2, they were a soldier and a sniper. The soldier was alone in enemy territory with a huge number of enemies looking for him so he just took all of the antibiothics at once and went on a killing rampage for over a week without eating and barely drinking, the enemy soldiers were terrorized because the soldier was just killing everyone in stealth, traps, snipes, granades etc... And so they fleed from the city. No one knows his exact killcount but he was found a week later with his pulse ultrahigh and having lost over 20kg. The sniper was similar, he was a sniper in service at the end of the WW2 and was assigned a determinated zone to protect. The enemy sent a recoignance team to investigate if there was anyone in his zone, they were found dead some days later. Then the enemy base sent another team, same result, and after a couple of tries the sent a whole freaking platoon to eliminate this guy. It was a massacre... for them obviously. He managed to completely dissapear in the environment and started killing enemies, sadly a lost bullet hit him in the jaw and he lost conciousness, after he waked up the war was already ended.

As long as one spartan survives... we all survive

I remember this game more than any other. This was the first game I ever owned on my first Xbox. The first game me and my mother bonded over. The game that jumpstarted my love for the entire Halo Mythos as a whole. Back in 2010 this game slapped some intense emotions into a 9 year old kid. Fuck, what I would give to feel that innocence again. This game crushed my heart, but gave me hope at the same time. Hopefully Infinite will do the same.

You'd think they'd stop sending covenant to Reach after he killed hundreds of them in one encounter... but... nope... nah...

I imagine it would have been relatively easy for six to continue fighting on, just find stealth, hijack a covenant dropship and board a Corvette or something, grab a vehicle and get into the mountains or something

I like to think that the foot and tip of the energy sword belong to Thel Vadaam himself arriving to finish off Noble six himself if his warriors continue to die. Now that would have been an epic battle.

I just noticed after twelve years that the corpses littered around the battlefield on this level are Spartans!

In one of the buildings, there are some crates that you can move by pushing. Push them into the corner but leave a small hole in the corner so you can get in. You're now surrounded with crates. Crouch and hold fire forever. DO THIS BEFORE CONTACT WITH THE ENEMY or else it wont work

I like to think that Arbiter gave this guy a proper burial with full military honors. The terminals did tell us that he had a code of honor so maybe..... Edit: Now I recall that Arbiter followed the Pillar of Autumn. Unless he gave that order 6 probably got dumped.

You know what would be incredible? If Bungie added a secret ending for those who survive on legendary for an insane amount of time where six gets to live out their days in peace.
