@SmilingEspressoMachine-sh3bj actually, that very human and very close to home if not accurate about how the government would handle that same situation. From one perspective, Master Chief sees this as the ultimate betrayal of mankind to leave Reach to its unavoidable doom. But yet, ONI, and the rest look at the bigger picture and realized Reach was already lost, and they scrambled to Save themselves (very selfish in a way) and what was left of mankind defenses so they can regroup for another opportunity to strike back. No right or wrong, just viewing the same scenario from different reference points.

I'm so glad that I have no real clue about the video game. Coming to it as a long time fan of sci-fi, I love this show. Season 2 is, so far, amazing and much more potent than season 1. It's a bummer to read all of the negative comments. It might not be quite as good as The Expanse or Foundation, but it's not far behind. I hope they keep making it!! I have no interest in video games, but always appreciate decent sci-fi shows and movies.

But to be honest even if you don't like the games the story and character development in the games and in the books are like light years better than the show... That's why fans are that much upset.. coz it's one of the biggest well written Sci-Fi lore and the only thing studios have to do was to just show them as it is ... ( Season 2 was a bit better Not gonna lie )

@@abhiabzy It's a lie, the series only improved the plot of the games. But some major logical holes that were originally in the games, even in the series, could not be corrected. But the series is definitely about the plot - it's an improved version of the plot of the games. And fans of the games for the most part whine because the Chief took off his helmet in the series - 99% of the complaints of “true” fans are about this. I'm tired of children crying. The series may not be a masterpiece, but it is quite good and does not deserve that childish anger from nerdy fanatics.

The helmet is one thing, but its not just that. Its a starting point I suppose. But Chief in general acts like he's in the military in the games. Mission first, and for humanity. Selfless. In the show he's not remotely the same character. He gets all flustered when giving and taking orders among his chain of command, is obsessed over being a victim & acts impulsive like he has no discipline at all, all while humanity is supposedly facing extinction he's whining about not being able to be a normal guy to Halsey. Great to see Joseph Morgan get the part in Season 2. But sincere question - he states he was brought up on Commodore 64. Me too. But I was 12 when it came out in 1982, and he was 1 year old. I would imagine when he's 'gaming age' ... it would have been Sega and Nintendo (and by now ... PC). Asking for a friend 🤷‍♂

As a person who got this came for Christmas when it first came out in 2001 to playing every version of the game and reading every book; I love the series. @petrsvancara8785 Just because movies/ series come out doesn't mean it has to be exactly like the game, book, etc. It's an adaptation on a FICTIONAL game. This is a game about aliens and literal space travel but people are butthurt because captain Keyes is black, or that MC took off his helmet. If he didn't take off his helmet they wouldn't have to have an actual actor like pablo Schreiber; just hire some dude who's 7 feet tall and put Steve Downes voice over it....

A pre-requesite for anyone on the show should have been that they grew up / played all of the campaigns. as they came out and at least read "halo: the fall of reach" . It all makes sense that the show doesn't feel like halo because no-one ever played the games or read the books. Halsey is probably the only character I think is doing a good job.

Might as well LEAVE THE HELMET OFF, since most of the time it is anyway. We just want to see Pablo! Who needs Master Chief right? Joseph Morgan must be channeling Stephen Boyd ( 50’s-60’s actor) with his simmering rage. Why has Kwan character’s scenes been cut back? Need much more of her spunkiness, it really is integral to the show. Please, less fighting with Covenant, and more about everyone’s feelings. LOVE what you’ve done to diversify the show, now if we can all just get along.

Watching episodes of this show just started to make me sad TBH. I appreciate the passion and talent of the actors, the writing and screenplay is painful though. Like the Halo universe got funneled through a 'generic drama' filter from people who are completely out of touch with military culture & discipline, not to mention numerous deviations from core characters and story.

Season 2 has been overall very enjoyable, but have to say the fall of reach episodes were a joke. Soo many missed opportunities there, it feels as though they're really lacking in budget and/or Paramount's execs have this arbitrary time limit that's forcing them to skip so much because they're still not 100% invested in the series

Such a shame how us true Halo Fans that have been around since the beginning finally get a live action series that we’ve wanted for 20+ Years and we got this dogshit. Since 343 took over the franchise it’s been garbage after garbage after garbage. I wish HBO was running it, but regardless of who runs it the show would be a masterpiece if they would have started the show days leading up to Reach through H3 only changing stuff that is impossible to adapt from the games to the show.

if you're going by Season 1, sure it wasn't received well at all. If you saw Season 2, its a redemption with 2 episodes released and they've taking in the feedback. Is it going to satisfy everyone? no but its better than Season 1 the way it is progressing.

Season 2 isn't good. Horrible script and at times bad acting, can you believe it? I don't care whether Joseph Morgan play 'Halo' or not, he's a decent actor like Pablo and 'almost' everyone else. Good acting can't help horrible writing, alas...

This show is truly appalling. I’m not really a gamer, but I’ve watched all the game clips that they put online and followed halo for ever, and in comparison to that this needs an even third rate the master chief never takes his helmet off. They were wearing their armour during the battle of reach, they’ve completely change the story and fucking ruined it. They should never ever be a series 3 because it’s appalling
