@sri nath no it will do ground testing next year validate every tech , so it will touch sky in 2023 . Or something magic happen and our sarkari babu ( beurocrates) clear order at fast pace then it may can fly at the end of 2022.

I think that's not the case . We can't use mig-21 blade Metalergy in our engine as it's very old tech so it is useless In case of kaveri engine we have received single crystal blade from Isreal. The problem is with core section designing , so it doesn't provide the required thrust as what a single engine fighter aircraft require. But kaveri hasn't failed it's dry thrust is about 50kn which is equivalent to the dry thrust of Rafael engine. Their some more issue with after burner section due to Metalergy of element that can sustain that much temp fir long time. And at last one most major thing is reliability as engine haven't Proven any thing till yet , and our forces ever time go with fully reliable and modern system of the time. Just think how we will develop our own engine , the situation is that we have to go Moscow every time to test high altitude performance. If government want to that we develop our own engine then provide at least 2 billion dollars to engine corporation without asking anything . Government have to see our raivle china has send 10's of billion dollars in engine but haven't made a single Relaible engine. If the government show the guts at that time we can make our own engine. Otherwise nothing can happen

Mk1a is not yet ready. Mk2 will go into production in next decade when current production line gets free. Otherwise it must be scrapped for AMCA.

They have capacity to build 16-18 at banglore but iaf give less order earlier , 40 tejas with 8 per year was part of the deal, if they had deliver within 2-3 years the production line will be empty which is not suitable for hal, for 83 tejas order they will deliver 16-18 and delivery will complete in 2028-29

@@MovieShorts.i I have a different opinion here that as of now 83 Tejas MK1 order has been issued, IAF also showing interest to place an order for Tejas MK2 and AMCA also. And we are getting orders from international agencies like Malaysia Airforce almost finalised the order, Argentina Airforce also showing interest on Tejas. USA navy and AUSTRALIA looking for Tejas training aircrafts… But we also remember that Dessualt Aviation (France) is rejected a proposal of manufacture/Assemble the Rafael flights in India (As a part of Make in India initiative), by giving reasons that HAL has low productivity rate and lack technical expertise issues… By keeping all these aspects it is necessary that we should improve and align our production line and focus on defence exports

@@kratos71 that’s true, but we are on the track with Kaveri Engine and deal with Rolls Roy for join development of futuristic engines… I have other thought that why our diplomats or negotiators are not demanding for Jet Engine technologies along with other defence deal with western countries such as India is planning to have a SSN class submarine deal with France, Russia wanted to have S500 deal with us, UK wanted to have good defence pact with India, I feel we should channelise these deals to fulfil our technologies gap.
