It's a common misconception that when a stock you buy skyrockets, the smart thing to do is sell it (or at least sell some of it) to lock in your profits. But the context matters. If the stock has increased sharply because the business is performing exceptionally well, it could still be a bargain. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas...

Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.

Transfer of wealth usually occur during market crash, so the more stocks drop, the more I buy, in the meanwhile I'm just focused on making better investments and earning more as recession fear increases, apparently there are strategies to 3x gains in this present market cos I read of someone that pulled a profit of $350k within 6months, and it would really help if you could make a video covering these strategies.

In my opinion, a housing market crash is imminent due to the high number of individuals who purchased homes above the asking price despite the low interest rates. These buyers find themselves in precarious situations as housing prices decline, leaving them without any equity. If they become unable to afford their homes, foreclosure becomes a likely outcome. Even attempting to sell would not yield any profits. This scenario is expected to impact a significant number of people, particularly in light of the anticipated surge in layoffs and the rapid increase in the cost of living..

Stay safe and utilize interests rates to PAY YOU compounding your money. The 20 yr t bill is down to half what it was 3 yrs ago thanks to the rise in short term rates. Now that rates have stabilized, the long term yield will start creeping up because it has to in order to compete with str's. Key lesson here, which wasn't really spelt out, if you are a stock picker - CHOOSE LOW DEBT companies, CHOOSE PRICE SETTERS, NOT PRICE TAKERS, BUY BELOW REAL VALUE (on a low PE when "once in a lifetime" EVENT occurs and sellers are fearful) and companies that have a moat (which makes them a price setter in the first place) and then interest rate increases won't effect your stock much, and nor will a decrease in the overall average PE ratio of the market/index, because said company's earnings should continue to increase, albeit perhaps a little slower than the past. ALA Buffet and coke, or See's Candy etc. Sometimes you just want a youtuber to spell it out for you...we'll I'm not one, but I hope I have helped.

@coryjohnson2486
@coryjohnson2486 6 ай бұрын
an area of water (deep ditch) surrounding a building for protection. Back in medieval days, many castles had a most surrounding for extra protection in case of an invasion. With a moat in place, there’s usually a bridge in a single spot (that can be lowered) in order to cross the moat and get to the castle. It basically makes attacking a castle much more difficult because you can’t storm every wall. In OPs use of “moat,” I’m pretty sure he’s describing it as the company having a safety net in case things go wrong (there’s a “moat” surrounding the business/stock). That makes investing into said company/stock less risky.

You've missed the point on the advantages small investors have over investment companies. Small investors can invest in small cap companies with relatively small amounts of money whereas investment companies have to invest in larger companies due to the sheer amount the need to invest to obtain a return for their clients. This is a huge advantage, so you may have less information, but you have a much higher choice of stocks to choose from.

NO this is wrong. The Fed only controls the short term rate. The bond market controls the long term. The risk of US Government default is going up. We just saw a weak 30 year treasury auction. Which means that the interest rate is going to have to go up to get folks to take on the risk (buy Government treasuries). When the FED pivots almost everyone thinks this is bullish and it is BUT ONLY VERY BREIFLY. They cut when the economy is in the dumpster. They are always late because they use lagging indicators. They have already over tightened but are afraid of inflation coming back and they should be ... QE, bail outs, Modern monitary theory... all of those are nonsense and they have gotten is into trouble. Way more trouble than most people understand. DO NOT THINK A PIVOT IS BULLISH ... IT IS NOT. It is your last chance to get out of your longs and if you are smart "short" the market. Don't believe me... look at a chart of the I don't know the S&P and see what it has done after a pivot. It has happened everytime. Everytime ... almost never happens in the stock market.

You are never going to out information wall street on S&P 500 stocks, but that doesn't mean there are no gaps in the research space. 2) why do you think it is unlikely that interest rates will fall back to historic lows? even moderate interest rate hikes like in the UK have had the intended impact on the economy and inflation is falling again. I think that the world has moved on from this viewpoint already... you can see huge gaps in the rate of return between long duration and short duration bonds at the moment. really interesting video though as always.

You could almost think of it as a subcultural issue. If "everyone else" is driving 60 in a 55, you might try it, too. Do you regularly test your drinking water for contaminants? Not doing so might be a risk you've chosen to live with. Point is, sounds like debt is a risk and practice you're not acclimated to. But many business leaders are basically expected to be. You probably don't worry that every kitchen knife in your neighborhood might be used for violence, but you might want to avoid the shady areas in town where weird stuff tends to go down. Likewise, you might recognize that people around you are going to take risks that look unnecessary to you (like debt loads) but can also attempt to create separation between you and it (like avoiding financial companies that seem to be going too far with these risks)

Interest rates follow very long term cycles of 2 to 3 decades up, then two to three decades down. If interest rates following upward trend over the next two to three decades, it seems like that's going to definitely keep a lid on stock market performance.

You forgot to mention why interest rates move in the first place. Interest rates move with supply/demand of bonds. Bonds will be the start of the next crash and hopefully interest rates go much higher. Otherwise we’ll experience inflation worse than the 70s.

@@SuperWotman The US has pissed away Billions to threaten China. The US has dumped $200 billion in Eastern Europe in the last few years to threaten Russia. That is called Economic Warfare, you either win or go broke. As BRICS now is representing at least 40 Nations Resource output, and China and Russia are BRICS Members, how do you supose US Commodity Markets are going to buy the Commodities needed to maintain a positive GDP? The BRICS Guys appear to now represent around 70% of the available resources on the Planet. Just like the Currency Crisis of 1967, the cost of Colonial Conflicts does add up. The US Treasury owes $33 trillion. Consumers owe $17 trillion. Average Wage Growth is lagging Inflation cost by about Half. Moody's downgraded US Financial status. Yeah this is why interest will probably never reach the high levels of the 80s again. Any significant interest rate increases beyond the single digits would choke out the economy almost immediately. You only raise rates to deal with inflation and (besides the pandemic) there hasn’t been an inflation problem since 2008. It’s not likely that inflation will all of a sudden accelerate enough to get rates above where they are now.

@@gbmoney8746 The reality of something around 70% of available Resources, being within the 40+ Nations who now are represented by the BRICS Trade Union, seem to indicate that the US Empire may not be dictating the price of goods much longer. The increase of inflation as costs of resources appeared to climb dramatically after the announcement of the Loan program of the New Development Bank, appears to indicate prices may not remain low for US Commodity Brokers. The fact that a large portion of the World's largest religious group live in the Nations that now are participating in trade relations with the G-7 Guys, presents the appearance of a Crusade, once again as Israel confronts that group of Nations. We certainly do live in interesting times.

Speaking as a professional asset manager, this video is fantastic! One of the best I've seen in months! The narrative explained here is spot on. Interest rates hit rock bottom the past decade (Z.I.R.P.). This does not mean calamity awaits, but it does mean that future returns will be significantly lower than in recent decades. For the most part the years of 20-30% S&P returns are over. Forward returns will most likely be in the mid-single digits per year, and we may even have some occasional negative return years. This is not a reason to fear the market, but expectations should be lower. The stock market will most likely be higher twenty years from now, but the incline will be at a much slower pace.
