IN this hammer fist tutorial we are going to explore using a figure eight motion.
Hammer fist are a great tool, and are great for beginners to learn for self defence application. because the body mechanics for delivery a effective hammer fist strike is the same as throwing a Frisbee.
In this video , I'm not explaining how to set this up and use in a self dfecne scenario , that's a whole other topic in its self. This is just about developing your TOOL ' hammer fist'
Because of my Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) Training I take the approach from the weapons training, we're the same application of wielding a stick is applied to empty hand.
I personally love the Arts of #Kali, #Eskrima, #Arnis.
Hammer fists can be applied in different directions from horizontal, diagonal , vertical.
This method I show a figure 8 application.
Ways to practise:
1. in isolation, on a focus pad
2. Multi striking keeping a confuse flow of strikes
3. striking why forward forwarded
Others ways to further develop
1. Use a pushing action with one hand as you strike with the other, to off balance your opponent.
2. Practise the hammer fist at different level , from kneeling , laying on your back.
