Hammer Performance 1250 kit on Iron 883 - What a difference!

I just installed the 1250cc kit from Hammer performance on my Iron 883, and it's completely changed the bike for the better. I am seriously impressed with this kit! In this video I go through some of the differences between 1250 and stock 883, as well as my initial thoughts and impressions.

I am going to encourage you to get one of the new 2018+ softail so you can figure out everything for me and I can benefit from your knowledge haha! I loved my sporty- but you won't regret the jump!

I probably will end up moving up to the softtail 🙃 I had a chance to switch bikes with a buddy of mine (2019 street bob) and man it’s a totally different bike.

Been meaning to check in on the engine mod. I really like the presentation here.. very professional. I know I'm a noob for asking but the display on the bars.. is that part of the mapping process? Digging the gloves also. Was that venom I saw? LOL. I agree with you about the diminished returns. At some point there is no valid reason to spend the cash for minimal gains.

The display is the power vision tuner, and I was mapping the new engine. The gloves are fast mask gloves, highly recommend. Lol the venom is kind of a joke between some of my riding friends. Thanks!

Thanks Ben! The chin spoiler is just from amazon and the sissy bar is from Etsy (Edward Ritchie)

I dropped a couple teeth on my rear sprocket and had a noticeable difference on the top end on the highway much more comfortable at 70~75mph

Did you install this kit yourself or have a shop do it? Also is this the basic conversion package?

I had a mechanic install it for me, and yes it's the basic conversion package. Looking back I wish I had spent the extra money for the other upgrades because I want a little more power on the bike now :)

Did you retain the 883 heads? Can you hold gear longer like the iron 1200?

I did. And no the gearing didn’t change I was able to just get more torque at higher rpm’s so it did make it slightly more comfortable at higher rpm range

I did! I used the auto tune and the power vision to smooth it out

@@lacolello6644 to me it's plenty fast. I haven't had it dyno'd but on paper it basically doubles HP and torque. It's a night and day difference from stock. The only time I wish I had a bit more power is on the highway when I'm going 80mph, there's not much more torque available at that point. Just my experience.

@@IronBornRider so u done the upgrade and the bike goes well .. now you wont to upgrade to a bike with more power .. i put a 1200 kit on my iron 883 plus cams it made no difference .. was fuckin useless was a waste of money

Mato Pendić I could try but I don’t know how scientific it’ll be. I do know it’s a night and day difference from stock, I think a little under a 50% increase in hp

Idk about you but my 883 goes just fine at 70-75.. maybe you just started on a bigger cc bike and didn't learn how to ride on lower power before coming to this
