He seemed so shocked, and embarrassed. I didn’t really see this as a problem, but I think it made him insecure. I never wanted to insult his abilities bc he may be too shy to keep trying and improve, I wanted him confident, so I didn’t laugh nor was I rude, I just calmed him down. He was mean to me, though.

It’s very cringe but as someone who’s had to speak to many people who knew little English, this helps them understand the convo way more since formally speaking will most likely trip them up. They actually can learn like this and it can help progress them to start formally speaking English. I wouldn’t call it insulting
