Also, the gold back then actually was closer to 22-23K. So with the handworking, it was as strong as the 14K of today and with none of the street fracturing or lack of longevity issues. Did I say how much better the 20K+ looks than 14K?

It's actually easily possible. As you can see in the video, pure gold is extremely soft and malleable - probably the easiest metal to make jewelery out of. It's not durable at all, though, that's why it's usually diluted with silver and copper to harden it.

@@noahharding2488 It has its practical purposes. In this case, I would say it's mostly habit/rhythm keeping. I do general contracting in construction and do the same thing. When I don't do the extra hammer when building things I fell like a step is missed lol. It's a way to keep the speed and allows for a quick second to over look the work done. If you have an uneven hit it's normally due to the fact that your strength used is only comparable to your last hit.

Those Perth Mint bars have had problems w/ counterfeits from China that look almost exactly like the real ones. It's hard to tell one from the other, the packaging is flawless because it's not that complicated to dupe for starters. The thickness of the bar absent any assay tests can tell the diff. Real bars are thicker than the fake ones because the fakes are made of harder and less dense metal(s) than gold.

@@uhom469 Not until that one day you needed it the most. But everyone kept ignoring it and ignoring it cos you know its always going off for no reason and got used to hearing it. So when the new guy or someone else asks why. You all tell him to "Not worry about it.It'll gonna do it again in a few minutes. Just watch". You all tell him. And then weeks go by same thing happening. But then. On this day. It was the last time any of us ever heard it go off again. Because on that day. It happened. We felt it and saw the fire burning our backs and burning the little room we worked in. But by then, it was too late. Every object nearby got burnt or melted into each other. It started from the other room they told us. All we could see was thick grey smoke and orange flames burning our skin and clothes off. Now everything is gone. We lost it all. We lost everything that day. On that day, we even lost that new guy that kept on asking.

Darn it. I should’ve made videos when I worked at a jewelry store. I would always watch the jeweler make so many things and melt metals. Pretty cool stuff for sure. Glad this guy is getting a lot of views! This is art (:

They used to say pure gold is too soft for jewelry, is it durable enough when you make that bracelet ?

Exactly what you see if how it can easily bend when applying the right amount of pressure so just be carful. I would just stick with 18k

Not sure how long it’ll last, pure gold is extremely fragile - that’s why 18k gold is more commonly used for jewellery

the clasp is similar to ones used in thailand a similar bracelet of that weight would be around $4,600 depending on gold price at time of buying though thai gold as a rule is 23ct not 24 so possibly nearer to 5k price
