Oooooohhhhh so you just glued the mirror in? That's much easier than just making two pieces and sandwiching it. Thanks for the vid

Nice job, especially being under the gun, late night. Why the soapy water bath, just after (I assume) shellac? I can spend days waiting for finish work, add a coat, wait for it to dry, add another coat, repeat, repeat. I need to work on that!

Two light coat of lacquer wet sand with soapy water and a last coat of lacquer followed by wax a glassy smooth finish in 45min total

Very cool Mike! Nice gift project. I know you can buy the mirror pieces specifically for this but if the store sells them fairly cheap that is just as well. Chris

Happy accidents always welcome here also. Turned out really nice, especially for left handers! Are you sure it was for her? Mike, where did you get the white marking pen/pencil?

I got the chalk pen at Menards, I think I've seen them at lowes as well they use these for marking metals.

ya except if she left handed she will want to use her left hand for brushing her hair not holding the mirror? Am I right? or does she hold it with the left?

My wife is left handed and she uses it. You could always make the handle straight

or you could put a mirror on both sides. Then you both could use it. And you could put your names on one side and hers on the other for fun. ha.

LOL, that little note pad came with the game and I just recently found it. I had it laying on my bench it was first thing I grab to mix the epoxy. Thanks for watch
