Wow - fantastic cover! I always did prefer Tom's singing when he does not sound like Bob Dylan. And Scott singing Roy Orbinsan's part - just wow! Tom gets a lot of credit for his songwriting/playing/singing/leading. But Scott is also extremely talented and versatile. He just hangs on the sideline and plays/sings whatever they need him to. TP and the Heartbreakers were always such team players.

Awesome awesome. Awesome. The drummer is superb and kept everyone together absolutely tighter than a drum. Every musician. Every musician & vocalist showed a lot of respect for this song and the people who went before. Petty knew how to assemble the right people to do an A+ job. Hats off to all of you. You should be proud.

I agree. I think his opportunity of working with the best in the business helped him out quite a bit... he learned a lot from others, including Mike Campbell with his guitar playing. He also got more handsome ;)

Very well done. Tom’s voice sounds better than ever, smooth as glass, and the whole thing is a tribute of respect to George Harrison. Scott’s vocals are truly impressive and a bright light. The lead break is angelical. this is a pinnacle of rock music.

Wow! I always knew Tom could sing anything, but I’d never realized just how incredible Scott Thurston is. Wow!!! Fabulous version of this song! (Not comparing anyone to Roy Orbison because that’s just impossible.)

Tom Petty said, "I was trying to get him out of the corner over there, because he always saw himself as a sideman-"I'm a Sidebreaker"-and he tried to stay over to the side. But we love him, he sings great with me, and we want him out there with us. He's a good buffer between the rest of us. When we're fighting or have some cliqueishness, he's good at getting in there and saying, "Let's look at it this way," because Duckhead, as we call him, is neutral. He doesn't come from Florida, wasn't there when this or that happened."

Great remake of this song. It has a different sound since George, Roy, Jeff, and Bob aren't singing along (Since Geroge and Roy passed), but none the less Tom does a great job singing it with the Heartbreakers

I loved the Wilbury's version and still do. But this one is better. Tom's lead vocal is stronger than George's and Roy is a lead singer. God love him. But his voice does not play well with others. Love this version.

From 2:35 to 2:39 Watch the top left corner when Tom Petty finishes his verse and he swings his arm as the camera turns. The screens in the back ground make it look like Tom Petty runs behind the other guy. Lol just thought that was funny!
