This is an in-depth look at the Nautage DA221 Diver, or possibly the Nautage Aventure Diver, as it is sometimes referred to. Either way, whatever it is called, it is quite the looker, and relatively affordable, but as with a lot of microbrand watches, there's a few issues, so check out the entire video to see what is up with this new dive watch.

I like it, its modern clean and the case shape is very pleasing too. Wish that lug to lug was smaller but still an awesome looking watch.

This watch is really nice looking. So nice infact, that I just ordered the white fully lumed dial version with a dark green rubber strap. I never heard of this brand until this review but glad I watched the video, can't wait for it to arrive.

I like the bezel design! Clean and minimalist. Definitely has Unimatic vibes which I love. Quick-release spring bars would solve the strap issue.

Great tool watch look to this diver. Love the case shape and the black bezel insert on top of steel. Clean dial for sure. I like that full lume white dial too!

I recently bought one of these. ( Silver with black dial) It arrived last week and I am loving it. No QC issues on mine and the time keeping is top class, about + 5 seconds a day.

What is the quality of the DLC? How resistant is the coating to chipping?

It looks more like the Zenith from the 70's Zenith also do a version now have a look it's very similar.

What did you think of the DLC? Is there such thing as to much black?

Personally, I love it in all black. No I don’t think there’s such a thing, unless they black out the indices on a dial and do black hands, that’s not a look I prefer, but the Nautage does it well. You can also get it in a white full lume dial and you can always put one of the colored straps on it to brighten it up.

@@dankengine8788 The bezel is subjective of course, but the strap issue, well, it could just be me getting too frustrated. Others have commented it was not that big a deal, and with a pair of spring pin pliers it is less frustrating, so you need to make the decision for yourself. It is a great-looking and comfortable watch though.

I think that this watch has no AR coating. Does this seem to be an issue of any kind?

You are correct, it says it’s non coated but I haven’t found it to be an issue at all. I haven’t had a point where there was glare and I couldn’t see the dial etc. That could possibly be an issue under water though, but Rolex didn’t use AR on their crystals until recently.

They lume the box but not the bezel markers? That’s just weird. Don’t dive watch manufacturers know that people love lume on dive watches?

I don’t have an issue with the markers not being lumed, many dive watches (including Panerai and Rolex) don’t have lumed bezels, I just think they could have filled them in with metal or do something else as I feel it looks a little empty/off. But still a great looking watch.
