Great to see Sammy getting the recognition he deserves. He is part of the new generation of players taking guitar into new territories. And I need to say the Dave Friedman / Grover Jackson guitars are really great! My favorite!

One major problem------- I wish this was an hour long! lol Really cool hang with such a badass yet humble and super chill guy in Sammy. Thanks for making my day that much better guys. Hope to see more someday down the road good sirs! cheers!

Also big kudos to Sammy when does the clean two handed tapping harmonic thing. Its really gives him a unique thing that stands out from other monster players out there and I while I very humbly consider my self an okay lead player i find it genuinely refreshing to have something completely off the wall to try an attempt (long damn way to go lol) when practicing. Thanks for being you Mr. Boller! Salute!

It’s so great to see two people I respect so much in a video together. Sammy is IMO one of the greatest guitar players of this generation. So talented and soulful and yet so humble. I’ve had the privilege of meeting Sammy twice and I’ll always cherish the memory and look forward to listening to him for years to come.

Nice one. We should not forget Jeff Watson (ex-Nightranger) and his superb 8 finger technique. Also a tapping monster I happened to see at a clinic in the 80's: Steve Lynch (Autograph). Both were so fluent, and thankfully, "non-Eddie".

So my wife walked in while I was watching this video, with no frame of reference, and you were talking about wood, thickness, and how Sammy had never seen a black one before, and well, she’s got a dirty mind, and started laughing hysterically once she knew what I was watching. I was laughing really hard too. If it’s any comfort, football is just as fun to watch in our house with all the offensive and defensive line penetration.

Such a cool player and seems like the nicest guy. My favorite kind of musicians. Did NOT know the NoHo was 24.75 scale!! Now - I want one. What frets? I picked up a friedman tele and didn't like the fretboard/frets.
@BigHairyGuitars4 жыл бұрын
Jescar 57110, which are basically jumbo. The Noho neck feels a little more modern, and is a litttttle bit flatter. The Gibson scale makes the whole thing feel different. I REALLY like it. ...but I also love the Vintage T neck.

Hey Michael, what was that pick Sammy was using? It looked thick. I’ve started to use the Dunlop FLOW pick and it looked similar. I’d like to know if you took a good look at it.?
@Robstafarian4 жыл бұрын
From the center pattern and the color, that looks like one of the Dunlop Primetone Smooth (as opposed to Primetone Grip) picks; my eyes are not good enough to spot the thickness, and I cannot be certain of the shape. I hope that helps a bit.
@natesrockshop4 жыл бұрын
It’s definitely a black pick with round orange-ish logo/writing

What does Sammy think of the dirty shirley?

He seemed to really like it. He’s so easy going, we only spent a couple minutes on dialing the amp.

@@BigHairyGuitarsWas Sammy playing through a Dirty Shirley in this vid? I have a Smallbox (x2), but I was really impressed with his sound in this video.
@BigHairyGuitars4 жыл бұрын
My Friedman 100w is One side Be and one side Dirty Shirley. For the dirty stuff he was using the BE side, and cleaner stuff was the DS side
@WyattWillis884 жыл бұрын
@@BigHairyGuitars Really wish that was a full line amp or at least an option. I'm so torn on what amp to get either BE50 DLX or Dirty Shirley. Love the vintage fatness and tube rectified of the DS. But I'm my two favorite tones of all time (early EVH and Eric Johnson's lead tone) are both achieved with a 12xxx series style plexi. Come to think of it an Echoplex into the front end of both as well lol such wildly different sounds from extremely similiar amps lol
@chanceterrill53464 жыл бұрын
@@WyattWillis88 if u get the Shirley u can always get a ss rectifier for 14 bucks. Plus in the highest gain setting it tightens up n gets u closer to the be type sound...... Rook bass back push mids hard n viola now u got both sounds u wanted for less money!
