It’s really interesting, because after I met Hank, I had front row seats, with my family. He changed my life when I was a teenager. In the early 60s until they left for Atlanta. I was a kid who had no self concept at all, but he made me feel special. I can’t tell you what a difference you made in my life.

Hank so kind and talented. Look in those eyes after he describes not being able to use the same water fountain as others. Heroic kind soul. (who would thumb down? )

Who would thumb down? I think we know the answer. I was just becoming aware of baseball in the Mays, Mantle, Maris era and Willie Mays was my hero. Being only 8 or 9 years old and from Canada, I had no idea of how tough it was for guys like Mays and Aaron. I hope the players that had to endure that are very proud of what has been accomplished because of them.

@@wwestern99 rare to have a true answer. The utter Stupidity of racists is hard for me to understand. You are ever so right. That's all it is. Here they are presented with a wonderful, elegant athlete and human and all they see is a different skin color than their own. Thank you for taking the time. Babe Ruth did it with Burgers and Beer, Hank Aaron did it with Class, Barry Bonds did it with Steroids!

Aaron, you only had 400 and some homeruns, when the Babe had 714 homeruns at the same number of times at bat. You never matched the Babe's record. The Babe had almost perfect eye hand coordination. Many of the baseball greats records will never be beaten. Baseball today is a lie. Supped up baseballs, and amended records. This is not fair and honest play like baseball and sports used to represent and taught to the next generation. A real shame this.
