Hank Williams, III sounds and looks just like his poet grandfather. He may be the only person younger than me who understands who good country singers were and what country music should sound like. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Williams dynasty for the art they have bestowed upon future generations. I raise my glass of Chateau Margaux to the Mozarts from the South. You shall never be forgotten. We will always hum your beautiful melodies and sing your beautiful lyrics.

If anyone ever has a chance to see this man perform please do not miss it. I can say he works his ass of on stage. I got to see him in charlotte, NC. The tickets were 15 bucks and he played for four hours. One of the greatest live shows I've ever seen. You get your money's worth. Also after every show he makes it a point to meet with the audience to sign autographs take pictures and shake hands. I respect this man and everything he stands for in the music industry.

Definitely reminds me of his grandad. Wouldn't have it any other way. Reminds me of my old man's country music that I grew up on. Nothing like the stuff they mass produce nowadays. I like the new stuff too but it'll never be the same...

I used to listen to country as my grandfather got me into it with Hank Sr and then grew a little older and got into metal and Hank 3 has brought me back into REAL country. Thanks Pop and I still listen to Hank Sr and Hank 3!
@hal9000lovesdaisy16 жыл бұрын
Wow! I couldn't agree more with your poetic description of this legacy of real country music. (I don't know about "simple country boy" but the rest is spot-on.) Hank3 picks up right where his granddaddy left off (on New Year's eve, 1952). His fusion of punk music and hellbilly is the logical reaction to the stale, and homogenized state of popular country muzak today. His shows are like taking nitroglycerin on steroids; the delivery and impact of Hank and the Damn band being second to none.

Hank 3 is a true artist and outlaw. He doesnt care about nashville or the music industry. The man just does his thing and puts on a dawg gone good show where ever he goes. Dont like it, thats fine but dont bash him for acutally thinking outside the box. If any of you are gonna bash something, bash the freaking guy whos got no identity or originality and is just playing whats popular and what the industry likes. Hank, do your thing brother got nothing but respect for you

I cut my teeth on Hank sr. Rocked out with Bocephus. But Hank the third? Well he is true and real. He's set country music on its ass!!! Or at least the politics of it. He's stood tall and real in his beliefs never deviating. He also is keeping the Steele guitar in his music which is dying out with these puppets today that call themselves country music artists. People say you sound like your grandpa and to a given point that's true but the one thing your not is a trained monkey!!! Your the most original musician that's out there today. I enjoy and love every genre of music I've heard you play. You don't just have talent son you are the very essence of music a very part of one's soul. I love you and wish you everything in the world that's good. Thank-you for all the happiness and joy you bring me.

The only HONESTLY country artist these days. This is my opinion. But these days I listen to the classic country station, the only thing that is legit on the radio. I'm kinda scared where country music is going, soon enough it won't be country at all.

Theory: the Hank Williams'es are all clones
@DougW2012pro8 жыл бұрын
Not a theory, you are onto something there, cloning has been around since the 1940's believe it or not, the media has everyone believing that cloning came around 1990's or early 2000's think about that.
@DougW2012pro8 жыл бұрын
But then again, he has strong genetic expressions and personality of his grandpa! I don't really resemble my dad or my mother, I look like my grandpa in his 20's and 30's genetics are a strong trait that carries on for generations upon generations, if Hank 3 has kids and grandkids, chances are one or two of them will pop out looking and sounding like Hank Williams senior when they reach their 20's but I still believe cloning has been going on for decades too.

In what way? Shelton looks a lot like his granddad, but Hank Jnr doesn't resemble either of them much...

You aren't a real country artist unless you've sung at least a couple of gospel songs in your career; and plus I don't ever recall Hank Sr. startin off any of his songs with Goddamn. Real country music died a long time ago.
@glen73189 жыл бұрын
THat's a rather narrow interpretation of country... and Hank I was singing at a time when it wasn't acceptable to use that kind of language in public, but Im sure he did in private. He certainly was a heavy drinker, was addicted to pills and had a broken marriage....
@scotlackey28079 жыл бұрын
Well then boy you don't recall the old outlaws. Country is part of what you are not what is the trend. Country is putting your thoughts into a song despite what anyone fuckin thinks. And if this ain't country then you can kids my ass.
