Best advice I got when I was engaged to my now husband, was to remember your why. Remember God’s confirmation of your union and remember your why. There will always como times when you can even question “did I make the biggest mistake of my life?!?!” Or “what in the world did I do?!?!”, but if you remember your why and God’s confirmations you can work together and walk out of the situation even stronger. Also, we cannot look into our spouses to fulfill our happiness, God and the way we decide to look at life will determine our happiness and we can only share that with our spouses. If we wait on our spouse to make us happy we are already putting them in a position in our lives that only God can handle and we are setting ourselves for disappointment. I’ve also learned, after seven years of marriage, to a Godly man. That 1)the devil is a pig, 2)he will do everything he can to destroy a union that will glorify God, and 3)the verse that says we don’t fight against flesh or blood cannot be more true. Therefore, there most probably will be times that your spouse will disappoint you, we all go through struggles and we all have our ups and downs in our spiritual walks. But again, if you are both willing to look into Jesus, love and respect each other because of Jesus and not because of the person itself, you can work together. And always fight together and not each other (still working on that one myself 😅😅, but when I actually do it, I can see the difference). 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

I love that Kaleb talked about church hurt. I recently left a church that I was so connected in, I did the photography for them and I was a youth leader. From one day to the next I left and it wasn’t easy. I felt hurt and kind of bitter to those people.

People will remember three things about your wedding: the food, the dancing and maybe your dress/vows. Truly my wedding day was perfect for us but even I don’t remember the small details I probably stressed over. Also, highly recommend pulling a Jim and Pam and eloping before your actual wedding 😁

I agree with the statement of best friends vs friends. Boundaries need to be set like if the person has a partner and their best friend of opposite gender is asking to spend quality time alone together that would obviously interfere with your partner.

Actually Adam and Eve had many more kids than just Cain, Abel and Seth, it’s just that those are the only ones that are named, but the Bible does say that they had sons and daughters. It’s still a weird situation but I guess dynamics and genetics also were different back then.

Regarding the money thing, I've seen different things work for different couples. Some have joint bank accounts as well as personal ones and it *works*. Some of this relationship advice is a little subjective at times because you need to know your spouse and what works for them. We discussed this at my Sunday School and that was the conclusion. Imagine only having only a joint bank account with a spouse that's extremely impulsive with money. Y"all are going to have massive issues.

what he said about friendships between men and women was outrageous - the fact that you feel like you have “no use” for female friendships in your life anymore once you get married just shows how messed up your view of women is. so women only exist to you as potential wives? have you ever considered that women are whole human beings who are more than just romantic/sexual objects? and can offer fully plutonic, enriching friendships? christians idolize marriage and perpetuate misogyny so much it’s insane
