I bought the 1st gen with the replaceable battery. As a full time service tech, its been holding up very well. If the hinge breaks, no biggy to buy another one. I wont buy a light that I cant replace the lithium cell. Sure, not as bright as the others, but youll be tossing those in the garbage eventually when the battery doesnt hold a charge.

I have the icon and the new braun. Both lights are great. The braun seems like it takes a long time to charge. Also the red charge light comes on quick but itll run for a long time. The icon has an indicator that shows the battery level. Good reviews

thank you. They are both great on the Braun you can get a stronger battery online if you want a little more run time but for me I enjoy using both. Icon is a brighter and feels slimmer. You cant go wrong with either one of them. I love flash lights and always trying to stay away from buying more of them. I got a 1000 lumen Milwaukee and wow its bright and now the 2000 lumen just came out but they dont have magnets its more like for my night stand just in case lights go out. Oh and also the Braun 900 lumen that just came out at HF too and its not bad for the price I paid like 19.00 but not impressive. Enjoy

Out of all the models the 500 lumens seems the best.

Hello for the price its perfect I use it all the time and has plenty of lumens. I have of them on the video and always use the 500.

I have the icon one and love it as a professional mechanic...best out there just don't drop it it in fluids..but that the same with all the lights he showed

Hello me too. I like it better than the bigger ICON one. For working on cars the ICON 800 is my choice. For some reason it lights up just perfect. thanks

The new 500 lumen Braun swivels 180 degrees like the original. Maybe you didn’t twist hard enough?

Great comparison! They blew it with a non replaceable battery on the newer one....Give me the 360 pivot with replaceable battery...

Thank you. Yes you are correct. I love that light and its very bright but it needs a replaceable battery and would be perfect. For some reason when working under my car or dark areas it works fantastic.

@0:40 The Braun is not suposed to pivot, the cob should face the same direction as the switch. I just repaired mine the twisted wires had pulled the connector partially off so the light showed a weak battery when the battery was fully charged, it would also be dim and flicker.

That makes sense. Mine did pivot about 180 and started flickering after owning it for about 4 years. Like you did I took it apart and the plug was connected properly. I have seen others complain about a ground issue for the flickering. I ended up just getting 2 of the new 500 lumens and love it. I think for the price you cant beat these Braun LED lights. Thank you

Oh no you might be correct. I cant find it online. I really like that light I use it all the time. I have the a bunch of the Harbor Freight LED lights all over the place they are addictive.
