ICON (Harbor Freight) 800 Lumen Work Light First Use, Comparison, and Review.

Hey Folks! I recently picked up an ICON 800 Lumen Work Light from Harbor Freight. Join me as I use it for the first time and give my thoughts on it. Also, I compare it to the 390 Lumen Braun Work Light that I have been using for 5 years.

both are designed differently... The Icon bar light as well as their ICON 2100 Lumen LED light illuminate a natural light output, this reduces shadows when working on engine bays and easier on the eye reducing major fatigue compare to the white light that the Braun emits. Amazing lighting when working on and under BMW's!

Yeah, you are right. The ICON definitely has its use and place. I just find the Braun to be a bit more useful. Thanks for the comment!

Love the Braun, particularly the flexibility, I've got 5. The icon pretty well seems to only point away from the work. Thanks for the detail. Good vid.

Hey Sparky! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I feel the same way about the ICON as you do, and I like my Brauns better the more I use the ICON.

Yeah, the Braun lights dont hold up very well. Ive gone through at least a dozen of them over the last few years.

I can’t get over not having the FULL articulation of the Husky Slim light. Not as much light as the Icon but you can position it ANY way you need.

Oh my God, the limited articulation is maddening. It seems like every time you need to have a certain angle lit up, the light can’t point that way.

@@beerwrenchgarageI’m on my 3rd Husky. Broke one, lost another, and I just bought another one. I was considering a different one but the Husky can be positioned EXACTLY how I need it and I can’t get past that. You should check it out.

Come here for info on will light work out of the package? How munch battery life will it have, How long to charge light, not a lot of info on this, This was the info I was needing.

Good questions. Yes, light will work right out of the package. Not sure how long it will stay lit on a full charge - I would guess at least an hour on the brightest setting. Same thing with charging, probably about an hour plugged in.

Mine came with one battery bar out of 3 from the package. (in case anyone else is wondering)
