It is a great splitter, I used it. I would prop the splitter up waste high do you don't get sore knees or destroy your thighs like I did

From all the videos I've watched It showed the ram would only return once the motor was shut off? I thought that was kinda stupid because it would be harder on the motor to be shutting it on and off all the time. Now this shows the ram returning with the motor running steady? WTF? That's how I want mine to work when/if I get that model.

HOW are you keepng the motor ON so you are having one hand operation?

great vid, did you do any modifications to make the ram retract while its powered on? I havent figured out how to do that yet.

it just works.

On my Harbor Freight splitter I have to hold the motor button down to keep it running, ergo splitting is a two-handed operation - but you have turned your motor on and it stays on - how did you do that - thanks

I changed my switch to an emergency stop mushroom button from eBay. Pop it up and the motor starts, push it down for shut off. Super simple mod.

It worked? I made a video and stated that I believe the problem is in the switch and everyone was so hateful that I just deleted the video. It's obviously the switch. I had another guy tell me last week that he tried to bypass it, but the ram would not retract or something. Mine just works like it is supposed to. Glad you actually have a brain.

I put a tie on the button so it is pushed in at all times, I hooked up a foot pedal so I step on it and the ram runs the wood into the wedge when the foot is on the pedal and when you release the foot pedal, engine keeps running but the ram returns.

I've got the same model using the footswitch but the ram won't retract until you turn off the motor. I'd like mine to operate the same way as yours !

It's a nice splitter for the money! I like mine a lot.

Same here, wish the ram came back while the motor was running.

Seems like some hydrologic fluid might have helped?

I tried. It seemed full. I was shocked when I took the cap off. It is working ok though.

On the really knotty blocks i would cut through the knots with a chainsaw, then finish on the splitter.

Thanks. I use the saw sometimes. Other times I try to whittle away enough out of the logs to just burn them.

Move your lever closer to center, you move to the right a bit and it'd be easier. You wouldn't be sitting cattdywompus.

my lever?

@@KentuckyKoozie Whatever you call that toggle or thingy you move with your hand...why are you bending sideways, is the point??? Move over and sit closer to the lever in your hand. What the hell do YOU call it? I have a real splitter and I stand near the lever. Just an old lady making a suggestion. What do I know after splitting and selling firewood for a number of years.

I must have missed if there was any questions or replies how did you keep your power button activated constantly so that you could just work the lever with one hand
@lynnmoser6918 Жыл бұрын
@@4056yates My mistake...I wasn't paying attention to it as a review of a particular machine. Mine splitter is not electric. So, no button. I keep it sliding one way or the other. I have a block for shorter lengths which makes it easier to reach everything. Apparently electric ones have that limitation. Spin a round so a split is 2 or even side to side for smaller splits. At least you are horizontal. Too many waste time and their backs on a vertical operation. Slow would drive me nuts. But that's me....

No eye protection and wearing what are basically flip flops? Good luck!

you're right. I should have left my good flip flops inside and went barefoot today. It was a nice day outside.
