I need a chainsaw to trim trees and cut up small trees, and I've been wanting this saw for a while, and it got a good deal on it

I’ve had mine for about 4 years or so and I’m telling you I beat the hell out of mine and it still works great. I replaced the chain and it leaks oil but not enough to bother me. It’s great for around the yard kinda work.

Just bought this today and it easily took apart a tree stump of approx foot wide. Very happy with the purchase and more powerful than expected.

Nice review. Thanks. I have the Portland electric pole saw and it’s been great so I’m checking out their chainsaws. I’ve used vegetable oil in it as bar oil in cold weather. Worked excellently.

I like both tools, a lot of people are picky about using chain oil made to be chain oil, but I've used about everything as chain oil, transmission fluid, sae 30, synthetic and just about every weight oil for car engines, it all works, although some are harder to clean up than others - thanks for subscribing!

These are surprisingly "good enough" even for jobs you wouldn't expect them to be up to. I've felled and then cut up a couple of small oak trees (each with maybe a tad more than foot's diameter trunk) and a big tough mimosa with one of these. There was then a safety recall, and I got a nice fresh new one right at the store. One thing that can make these and other corded gear like their grass trimmers and such viable where extension cords may not easily reach are those little 2-stroke fussbucket 900 watt StormCat or TailGator generators that until recently one was often able to grab on sale for 80-something bucks, but are sadly now discontinued. I just adore those handy and portable little gensets and have a couple. They'll dig in and power most any hand tool anywhere. If you see one at a garage sale, grab it! Everyone should have at least SOME little generator for, you know, "stuff", or when "stuff" happens.

My dad has this saw its not extremely powerful but its powerful enough to cut up to a 10 inch log He is on his second of these saws the first got the chain caught on piece of rusty wire and the the teeth sheared on the driven gear (The big whitish gear) my dad decided to buy another one This one is now on its 3rd season And has had to have its chain sharpened 5 or 6 times And is nearing the end of its useful life i must admit that im pleasantly surprised the saw lasted long enough to need its chain replaced And really isnt showing any other signs of wear Id say this saw is good and i do reccomend it

I agree its not a powerful saw, I use it to trim around the yard and cut small logs, but I did use it once to cut down a 14" tree - requires a LOT of patience LOL but its still going - I just got the bauer 16" corded electric saw, so watch for the review on it in the next few months - thanks for subscribing!

I have one of these, it's not a bad chainsaw but I feel it's one of those things you get what you pay for as I had to have mine replaced due to the recall a little while back for the defective trigger lock.

I was happy to return mine for that recall. Hell, I'd damned near already worn it out by then felling and cutting up a couple of small oaks and a huge mimosa. So getting a fresh one was AOK by me.

Nice review. I just picked one up and apparently they did away with the tensioning bolt and I'm having to constantly tighten the chain

That is a sign that something is loose, re-tighten everything, there is an incredible amount of force on the bar while the saw is in use, I had this happen on the saw I had before this one, and the bar is sliding back a little - thanks for subscribing!

Did you ever get the Bauer one? I just had a tree fall. Not too big, but I needa get a chainsaw to chop that up and clean up the area. Was wondering if the Bauer one was worth the extra 10-20 bucks. I won't be cutting down any big trees probably, but I have a pole saw and the blade it pretty dull now and a pain to cut through even 3-4 inch diameter trees. I want something I don't need to hold up forever.

@@snapwholeharborfreightreviews I actually remembered that I bought a Worx 8 amp 14" chainsaw (tiny one) like 4 years ago that I never opened. I figured it would work, I just didn't wanna dull the chain like I did with the pole saw. Do you have a chain sharpener you would recommend? I did end up using the tiny one real quick, and it did the job. But if I was buying another one, I was about to go grab the Bauer.

looking for replacment chain. my guide bar is 15 1/2 inch chain laid down is 18 1/2. all these motherfffff websites say 14 inch chain. well the 14 inch chain IS TOO SMALL. can you measure your guide bar ? thanks.

I'll try to post the size this weekend - interesting problem - I'll do some measurements, but 14 inch should be the depth of cut, chain has to be longer, the 15 1/2 soiunds about right for overall length of the bar and drive mechanism - thanks for subscribing!

its a chain saw, sharpen the chain like any other chain - I showed all the accessories that came with the saw - its a 14 inch chain saw, go to amazon and search for 14 inch chainsaw chain, there are many seller - thanks for subscribing!

Soooo, your thumb has to be pushing that button the whole time?...that's a hard pass, no bueno 👎How many times did your thumb slip off..or go numb..egads

that is why I do these videos, if it was a problem for me, I would have mentioned that in the videos, I have cut 12 inch trees with this saw and did not experience my thumb slipping off, it did not go numb, it is ergonomically designed to not cause a problem for your thumb, I've had three of these from three different manufactures, including the Bauer model, and all have the safety, it is necessary as much for others protection as yours, if you don't like the safety, open it up and bypass the switch, but I do not in any way recommend that - thanks for subscribing!

motor is way better? bigger electric motor? this is meant to be a small utility saw to use for cutting small trees, like trimming or yard clean up, it is not meant to use to clear a forest, so a bigger electric motor would raise the price without any real added benefit in that intended role - thanks for subscribing!
