I own one of these. I use automotive windshield washer fluid & Tide laundry detergent in it. I use it to clean my customer's small engine carburetors & it works great!

Nice, interesting choice of cleaners. I’ve never heard of using laundry detergent before.

@@stuffyoucando2 It works, and it doesn't corrode the aluminum either. Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that I always wash off the carburetors after being in the ultrasonic cleaner in my parts washer with paint thinner, then blow dry them with compressed air.

I recall one tip for ultrasonic cleaners is to put the small parts in a zip lock bag with a cleaning solution of your choice, like simple green. That way your cleaner remains concentrated and doesn't contaminate the main tank of water...

I could see that being beneficial in the larger ones, not sure it would be worth it in something as small as this one. I guess it depends on how many parts you’re cleaning at one time.

I may need to look into that ultrasonic cleaner powder that you used. I have been using lacquer thinner in mine, which is supposed to be really aggressive on dirty parts. Currently trying to clean the carb from my IH Cub tractor and the lacquer thinner hasn't done much to it, aside from loosening some of the varnish (this is with the heat cranked all the way up and allowing several 30-minute cycles). I'm probably going to have to go at it with the wire wheel to clean it the rest of the way.

The only thing I noticed with the powder is that there’s a caution using with aluminum alloys saying it may cause discoloration, something to keep in mind.

Thats about all mine did, nearly nothing. I thought something was wrong with mine untill I saw this video. Nothing wrong, it just dont clean worth a damn. I wasted my money.

I just got one and have not used it yet. Things I have noticed watching videos. Why is the timer only set to count down seconds? It should be minutes. Why doesn't the trey have handles that reach the top to prevent putting your hand in the hot solution? And the very top of the solution reservoir can and will leak because the gasket inside is not very good. It's recommended to put silicone around the top to prevent a leak inside the unit, that will cause it to no work anymore. But hey, it's made in China. That's what you get from this country.

Yeah they do make $300 units for what your expecting. If it was made in the United States you would pay $600 for it.

Had one of these. After a few weeks it started making a rattling sound inside, so I took it apart and the transducer had shaken itself to pieces. That’s what happens when you make all your shit in China.

wrong parts, I have done better with a padtal wire wheel, brass or metal wire wheel. Ring or carburetor would have been real! I learned nothing & wasted my time!
