20+ years as a classic barber here and I can definitively say truer words have never been spoken when Eddy says of other videos: "Seriously over complicating shear work". Id add same goes for a lot of the clipper work too... It drives me crazy watching most barber videos. A bunch of nonsensical moves, flipping around shears, inefficient movements and a bunch of BS that is not needed... The list is endless. Eddy you're the man, thanks for hammering efficiency into people!

I think the only time that more length by the hard part makes more sense is when they need the length on the hard part side to push the other hair in the direction they want to style their hair.

Eddy, thanks for the tutorial brother. I've been barbering here in Naples for the last 15 years. I always seek to grow and learn. The way you break down the process of blending in a fade is phenominal.

Great video man 👌I think personally a lot of times either Barbers overcomplicate scherer work in their videos just to kind of b fancy when it is absolutely not necessary, obviously pertaining to the right type of haircuts like you explained. and yes the hard part side left heavy it almost looks like it's just not finished and I feel like it can take away from the sharpness of the part as well... Great job💪

Awesome job! Do you think the scissor work can be done if doing a self cut? I've gotten the clipper work on the sides and back to the point where I think it's fairly good, but have struggled with the top, not really knowing the correct technique. Willing to give the technique you demonstrated in this video a try on myself. Thoughts?

Hey Eddie been watching for a while now and I want to ask, is it such a difference to start off with the open taper rather than just going in with the half attack method with my magic clips? Thanks!

What is the better and more efficient technique? Going in with the half guard open right after no guard open or going in with the one guard open right after no guard open??
@Mike-hy8cs
@Mike-hy8cs 4 жыл бұрын
Depends on you. Its personal preference. Most barbers that use the 1 open technique end up making the guideline too small and it ends up making the blend look too condensed. Thats why i always suggest making a guide with the half guard open first.

The question I have is how do you gauge the length when cutting the top like this since you don't have guides like you do on the clippers. I've just been going off the thickness of a finger or two or three, does this sound about right?
@5ociopathic
@5ociopathic 4 жыл бұрын
I get the part about making a guide, the Mohawk guide, but how do you gauge how long or short that initial guide has to be? I'll go watch incase I've missed something
@Mike-hy8cs

@@5ociopathic you ask the client how short they want their hair. They determine the hair length.
