I will give you an update of my 20 years Jade plant that I did a hard prune on it and I will give an update for 7 months later on what is it doing so far.
I am not a Bonsai expert, but I just want to share with you on how I did for my Jade bonsai.

You butchered it... those stumps look awful. Bonsai trees need to trained from months old to retain natural look.

An important thing to remember about anything in life, including bonsai, is that beauty is subjective.

The stump cut is a very classic bonsai technique. A shocking number of the trees you'll see at shows were big ass trees that had been chopped down to a stump 2-3 times over 10+years. It'll take a few years to become invisible, but with dedication and regular work, in 3-5 years this little guy has the potential to be interesting. The real flaw is that this tree's leaves will never get smaller. But still fun to play with.

I agree. I have the same stumps and I don't find it attractive. It seems impossible to return it to natural look after the chop. The best option is allow it to regrow and chop off the new growth, plant that, and throw away the stump.
