Those are the stock handle bars, grips etc correct ? Based of your size how does feel now with the forward controls? Are you considering going with any risers or aftermarket bar setup? Thanks for sharing

I think it's good to have Harley (or whatever brand bike you bought) do the first service if only for the fact that they see a LOT of bikes, and are usually pretty keenly aware of little things here or there that should be checked, or things that can be a potential manufacturer mistake (idk, something cross-threaded or something that just ain't right). Functionally changing the oil is all they really do, but come time for a warranty call you're *really* gonna wish you had that entire first service documented somewhere haha. You can cut about 130 bucks off by just doing the oil change yourself though and letting Harley do the rest. Did he just put 20w-50 in all 3 holes?

Do you have to get it serviced after the 500 mile break in? Or wait till it hits 1,000 miles?

Hey man - Thanks for watching! Harley suggests your first service be done at 1k miles, then 5k, etc. Of course you can get it done whenever you want. 👍🏼

Help a brother out! Where did you get..... sissy bar, rear pegs/mounts and front turn signal lights? Part numbers? Or whatever to help me out!

Rear pegs and mounts came from Harley, just tell the parts guy what you ride and what you want - he’ll order it! The link to the LED lights are in the description below. The tinted blinker covers were in the “frequently ordered together” section of the LED lights. (www.amazon.com/dp/B07G72NXVF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_V1XPD200PXCENPBYA27T?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) Sissy bar was from Amazon, nothing special. Several have asked about it but I can’t find it on Amazon anymore.

@@RYANo_Moto Go back every 1000 miles check tire wear. The rate is $140.00 per hour in Canada at HD dealer. Do your own service buy the service manual for your bike, good education, good times. Nice bike!

@@daymaker5460 Thanks! The service from Harley here is 1k, 5k, 10k, etc. Everyone is different, some prefer to do all of their own maintenance and others prefer to have a professional do it. As long as people are riding, I don’t care which one they do. 😉

This video is 2 years old now, I would expect prices to go up, but that seems a little high in my opinion. Every dealership is different, definitely shop around.

I couldn’t even install passenger pegs and a sundown 2 up seat Harley dealership where I got it had to do it or it voids warranty

That’s insane… their are lots of Harley dealers though, just buy from someone else next time. I’ve learned that each dealership sort of makes their own rules.

Price depends on location. The service, less the fluid change should be free. So we have to pay to double check the factories work ? Properly torqued fasteners should not come loose after only 1,000 miles and if they do, it should be on them.

@@toolmaker5150 Hey man I agree! At the end of the day though, these bikes are put together by people and people make mistakes. I would rather have someone check the entire bike over than to risk it - personal opinion of course. Small price to pay for peace of mind. I ride my bike to manage my stress/anxiety levels, so knowing someone checked everything makes me have a more enjoyable cruise. 😎👍🏼 Thanks for watching!!

Think of it this way, your fist service is the dealer looking at a brand new machine that has had a1000 mile shakedown for stuff to come loose. Usually if it hasn't come loose by then it won't.

Most Harley dealers near me are around 600 for a fluid change. Fuckin robbery! And I doubt they do all in that check list. I have never taken my bikes back to Harley for anything. But I did just purchase a 21 low rider s and don’t want to void warranty. I’ll have to show them this video. Would help if you showed the invoice bill lol. Oh and my area is the NY/CT area

Hey man! Thanks for watching! I definitely wish I would’ve shown the invoice now! I’ve heard several different prices people have paid for this service. What I can tell you is that the technician didn’t find any issues with anything on my bike. If the tech finds an issue, they will charge for the replacement part and labor. It can add up quick! That would be my guess in your case, whether you actually NEEDED the replacement part is another story though.

Thanks for the reply! I haven’t taken the bike in yet, I’m at 600plus miles Rn. My self and my buddy who picked up a 21 RG called around to the all the local dealers, including where we both bought from , 500-600 bucks. He found one dealer in upstateNY for about 300

@@03US11MC That’s exactly what I would do myself, check around until you found someone you felt comfortable with. All of the dealerships are like their on little world, each have different rules they go by. 👍🏼

@@RYANo_Moto if there is any issues at your 1000mile service it should be covered under warranty.

@@JCunningham21 The warranty does cover certain items, but not all. Any filters, belts, tires, etc would be an added cost to your bill, which is why some people get charged $300 and other get charged $600. Just depends on what the technician finds during his inspection and decides to change. 👍🏼

You have to go into it with the mindset that you’ll have an experienced Harley technician looking over your bike to make sure everything is how it’s suppose to be. If you look at it as simply a fluid change, it stings a little. 🤣

Depressing looking service center looks like dog kennels. Harley just makes up a big list of items of which most are just a quick looky-loo. Hundreds for a simple fluid change which can be done at home for $80 or less and it does NOT void Harley Warranty.

It’s setup so each tech has their own area, I like the idea but it could definitely be dolled up some. Then again, no one is allowed back there usually and the area is functional so 🤷🏼‍♂️. I agree I could do all of this at home, but I’m lazy AND want to support my local motorcycle shop. 😎👊🏼
