B.s 2-1 doesn't go well on big bore engines. That's why all the top builders use 2-1. You can literally go to fuel moto and go through their dynos and see the torque lost at bottom end when people choose 2-2 exhaust. If thats not enough go check out moonshine harley and see their experience with it.

The big 131 ci number is cool and all and if you're a KZfaqr this is what people are interested in, plus so many people are hung up on warranty nevermind that Harley EPA tunes run so lean and hot they kill your motor, but I guarantee you the S&S 128 kits will eat the 131 Harley kits for breakfast at half the price. Still a cool video to watch though. Great tech.

exactly the head breathers suck and to make matters worse is forced fed back into the intake, you need a ventilator, its a vented oil cap that helps with the blow by created from these big inch motors!

The breather is like a PCV valve in a car engine. The only plus is that in car engines it removes blow by from the crankcase and that reduces sludge and varnish that can build up in an engine to the point that it blocks oil returning to the oil pan. Before the PCV valve they used what was called a road draft tube, which was a pipe that ran from the lifter valley to the area underneath the oil pan where the air passing by it creates a vacuum and removes the blow from the crank case. At least that’s what they were supposed to do. And when he put his hand over the spark plug hole he’s felling the cylinder pressure that been built up by the piston drawing in air and compressing it just before the spark plug would ignite the air fuel mixture. This pressure has been increased by the physical size of the cylinder, the static compression ratio, the cam shaft and the way it has been ground and the size of the air valve of the throttle body. Changing any one of these can increase or decrease the cylinder pressure.

I'm in the process of finishing my dyna. I had the pushrod debate with my builder and he convinced me to use the s&s adjustable pushrods. His main point was that the cylinders and heads with gaskets are not always the exact same so, adjustable would give me the better setup. It made more sense how he explained it but, I trust his judgment as he has been building and racing these bikes for more years than I've been alive and I'm 48. I'm just wondering now how much of a difference in length the stock would be vs what would be perfect fit after the modifications. Im also not saying there is a right or wrong way of doing this so don't think I'm criticizing.

I spun the tire going from 4th to 5th gear passing. Hang on tight and respect the power. Curious of your thoughts after the Thundermax tuner. Search the video from Cycle World "Harley-Davidson 131 Crate Engine Performance Review", they give the numbers of just using all Harley parts 0-30,0-60,0-100, 1/4 mile. Compare before with stock 114 and after with 131.
