Harley Davidson 2021 Lineup | Why I'm Dissapointed

So after the Harley Davison Virtual live event were you excited or disappointed in the 2021 updates? We lost 7 models from the lineup but gained a few updates that are pretty cool. But I can’t help be a tad disappointed that there was no big exciting announcement. Sadly it doesn’t look good for the Sportster with no update on the horizon.

I like how you broke everything down and gave your honest thoughts. I looked at the Softtail Street Bob when it first came out, but I wasn't impressed with it only having the 107 option and the small fuel tank. Now with this new paint scheme option and the 114, I can see these bikes selling. Still needs a bigger fuel tank IMO. Now that I have my Road King, I'm not really in the market for a smaller bike, unless I pass off my Honda Shadow to my wife. The new CVO's catch my eye, but like you said, not anyone can drop the cash for one. I really hope they don't drop the Sportster line. This is about the only way a new Harley Davidson rider can get into the market and ride. New to the channel, and love how your bike sounds!

i think over the next couple of years Harley is gonna really need to start pushing themselves to outpace the competition!

Agreed with you man. I think the 114 street Bob will be a hot seller if not best seller for 2021. I wanted more on the future bikes like the pan am which is getting its own event in February but just a little would have gone a long ways. That’ custom has been in future vehicles forever and never a damn word about it.

Keep up great work bro. I didn’t like being sold a LIVE Event when it was clearly just a video. I’m a bee rider as well and wanna truly love H-D because it’s a great American brand. As a new sportster rider I am very glad I got my 2020 Iron without the nee 600.00 price gauge. Ride safely brother!!!

As far as past new model year reveals, Matt Laidlaw said they used to have a huge “dealer” event in different parts of the country where they had bikes on display and sat the dealers down and went over the new bikes and any changes to existing bikes and such.

I could not agree more with pretty much every point you brought here. Looked absolutely fantastic from a marketing and imagery production wise, however the "live" section of it was so weak the people leading those section were not great on camera at all and felt way to scripted. The bikes, nothing to shout about either.

still the only thing stopping me from trading in my Dyna Street Bob for the Softail especially now that they have the 114 is that small ass 3gal tank

I think the 2020 fxdr 114 looks so bad ass. Too bad it was discontinued.

If HD is so stupid that they don't know the definition of "live" then they have no hope of gaining more business. And killing more small and midsize bikes is not the way to gain more customers.

I think harley - at least here, in europe - are headed towards more and more difficoult times because they´re still high (some would say over-) priced while the entire economy is in a downward spiral due to the covid restrictions. A lot of companies won´t survive these times and a lot of people will lose their jobs, leaving ém with other problems than buying motorcycles. At the same time they´re culling the cheaper, more effortabe, modells. No iron 883 or evo engine for us anymore due to insane EU emission restrictions. Go to the german HD site - you won´t find any sportsters anymore. If you have a sportster NEVER EVER sell it - they will become history.

Yep the Sportster is gone from Europe, the US is probably not far behind!
