As A Welshman and loved and raced grass track and speedway always loved America flat track , I have too say what a pure piece of America artwork, I remember seeing this X-R 750 flat tracker in a magazine and fell in love with it then and this is the improved version , absolutely beautiful 👍

Thank God somebody besides me not only likes sportsters but still gets excited by them. I know they are supposed to be "girls bikes" but I have yet to see many women from that era kick start those sportsters. However I just love twin cylinder motorcycles period!!

i got nostalgia chills when i heard that awesome exhaust note... you just want to lay into it as hard as you can and hold it as long as you can till you run out of fuel... then at that point you simply coast to a stop. get off the bike and just walk straight up into heaven lol. but seriously. the look and the sound took me back to those suspense filled afternoons as a kid anxiously waiting for Evel Knievel to NAIL his latest jump!!! awesome bike. awesome memories. nice shop you have. i really appreciate all the vintage bikes you keep moving on to their next happy owners. Beauty! Looks like a real motorcycle should. Used that same seat on my race bike in the early 80's. Rear tire sure looks small these days but it's the right size to pitch it in and get slideways. The simple dirt track style has never really been tried on new street bikes, but it's much better looking than the wierd angular styling they're pushing.

A couple of things: that motor needs 4-5/8" flywheels and some compression, there wasn't ever an '80 XLCH. The reason '79 Sportsters had that goofy rear exhaust was to accommodate a kickstarter (Hence XLCH) and a rear brake m/c. By '80 they abandoned the need for a kickstarter and chose to have a "normal looking rear exhaust.

I loved these Bikes, and had the pleasure of racing against Pat Mahoney on Lucifers Hammer, on my 500cc short-stroke Norton, his Bike went flying past me and sounded great, even though he had trouble completely drowning out my open meggas, beautiful bikes.

That rear brake problem, just for thought two times already a custom panhead and dyna glide. Had to unbolt caliber leaving line connected space brake pads make sure caliber is lower than master cylinder manually bleed air out . I'm 46 had many dirt bikes yz's rm kdx xr's dr ts's the 01 all black buell lightning x1 cone air cleaner straight 4inch stainless cut pipe i try do things rite clean and safe lol I'm in PA Emmaus .love your channel great people hope to visit in near future take care
