That's where a professional mainly medical professionals fall for their patients in bizarre ways. Harley has admitted this abuse and is rebounding finally. He raped her and hit her, threw her out on the streets, put her in extremely dangerous situations so batman would be distracted and would save her so that joker would be able to escape and he also mentally abused her. Telling her she never looked beautiful, nobody would ever like her, she'd be nothing without him and stuff like that. These things happened in the comic series Batman the joker and Harley Quinn as far as I know. Many things also happened in the animated series since that is were the character of Harley Quinn is actually from Hope I could still help even tho I didn't really understand what u meant
