We never did cams in the Twin Cams. Crank is too prone to shifting. We never recommend or put anything on our site that we do not run on our own bikes. You can plug, weld and balance a Twin Cam crank, but it is expensive. That said, there are a ton of good TC cams out there...but we shy away because of the crank.

Congrats on your new ride! We have not ridden an RG3, but they have exactly the same size front and rear tires as the previous years CVO Trikes. We have a lot of experience with those low profile tires...unfortunately they make an already rough riding OEM suspension even rougher because of lack of sidewalls that can give a little flex. Thanks, glad you found the video useful/interesting. We are a dealer for Legend, and can certainly sell any of the Legend suspension components. Unfortunately air ride just does not give a quality ride like properly valved coil shocks. We used to build air ride suspension for Baggers and Trikes that was adjustable on the fly. (called the MacAir) There is a cool factor in being able to raise a bike up and drop it down when parking...and, of course, being able to adjust it to road and load conditions will enhance the quality, but even with on the fly adjustment, it is not close to the ride quality of good shocks. No, we have never said that, nor printed that anywhere. It is absolutely false...even though there are folks running around in Dealerships and on forums saying that. That is one of the reasons we have made this 3 part series...in either part 2 or part 3 (Dwayne has not edited them yet) we will explain WHY some people think that. The part numbers for where the shocks mount are exactly the same on the 2023 as on the 2009-2022 models.

Yeah, we saw that misinformation in a Video on youtube about a month ago. Unfortunately the guy making the video owns a Tri Glide and was saying in the video saying that his Parts Guy at the Harley Dealership, whom he trust 100%, told him that. The unfortunate part is that over 5000 folks had viewed this misinformation. He posted the video on Trike Talk and got hammered pretty good by the members there that know better. He has since taken that particular video down. But the misinfo was already spread.

We ride, a lot. We have common sense, which, unfortunately is not too common, especially among engineers. (no offense to engineers reading this) We also do extensive testing. The process on the Trikes has been a long one, involving over a quarter million miles on various HD Trikes. Almost always when we are riding we are testing one or more parts. Some make it, some don't. HD took over production for the 2011 models. The only difference between 2009-2010 models and 2011 models is the gearing. Harley changed pulleys to make the gearing just a little bit lower. A lot of folk appreciated the lower gearing, some not so much. Hard to please everyone. Other than that I am not aware of any other changes in parts used. As far as assembly of the parts...hard to say if Lehman or HD paid better attention in the process.

@@DKCustomProducts thank you. I have a customer with a 2010 Tri Glide Ultra Classic-surely that came out of the HD factory and not the Lehman factory, as you mentioned that the 2009-2010 Trikes were produced by Lehman.

There are many articles you can see with a google search that Lehman and Harley were partners for the 2009 & 2010 models. They probably don't know they are not telling the truth. They probably think that since the ass end of the trike is no longer dragging/drooping that it must be because there is a lift kit installed. *They don't know their product.* The reason the 19 & later are not sitting low in the rear is because Harley changed to those awful coil over shocks that have no sag. Of course, it is physically impossible to have good ride quality out of a shock without at least 25% sag, preferably 30% sag.

I am not sure what you mean by "regular shocks". For proper handling and comfort, the shocks should be designed for a Harley Trike.
