He was a wonderful judge! Very calm yet stern--just what was needed! He is quite a positive role model IMHO! I know it hurt his heart to hear about Murdaugh murdering his son (and wife) after losing his 40 yo son in January, just before the pre-trial and jury selection. Harpootlian was a hack-ass to point that gun at Creighton Waters, the prosecutor. All I could think of was the young woman Alec Baldwin shot--thinking the gun was not loaded. Very inappropriate of the defense attorney--especially at a double murder trial!

@brentbarnhart5827
@brentbarnhart5827 Жыл бұрын
He never said the judge made mistakes. You not being able to listen, and comprehend, and then type out something entirely that didn't happen as fact, is what is wrong with social media, and media in general today. HE SAID, That he respected the judge, and that HE, HE, did not agree with all of the judges rulings, HOWEVER, HOWEVER, many would disagree, WITH HIM, "(Harpootlian) over his disagreement over those decisions. BUT, based on how our process works, they WILL, present them in the appellate process, and, as in all cases, the appelate judges, will decide whether his disagreement is correct, or not correct. But he did not discuss "mistakes the judge made," nor was he ever even specific about any of the rulings he didn't agree with. As for HIM, "discussing" "it" on the Senate floor, HE WAS ASKED QUESTIONS by other senators, about "his opinion" of the South Carolina Process for electing judges. So he didn't just stand up, to discuss, "his case." he stood up, to POINT OUT, that freedom of representation, is what we all are afforded, and for all of you who want to wish him death for what we all are protected by the constitution to have (legal council) you all should go crawl back under the rock you came from. YOU ARE IGNORANT. What is dangerous, is people like yourself, who cannot comprehend what they heard, and change it to your own uses, and then 68 other ignorant people then agree. because they are too stupid, to listen to it, and realize what you said... NEVER EVEN HAPPENED.
@juliejames917

This isn’t at all what he did. And I don’t think you’re near qualified to determine what is dangerous behavior. I swear to God people are getting dumber by the day. I can’t stand Harp.. but I agree with every word he said because I’m able to comprehend his reasoning and I know how the constitution is read. Try to go back and actually listen. Like him or not, he’s defending your freedoms and rights.

I belive the two "errors" in this case were caused by the defense. One, they opened the door to the financial crimes coming in when they falsely claimed there was NO motive. Two, they removed any argument or doubt by just one juror about the kennel video being authenticated as to the voice of Alex when Alex took the stand and admitted to being present at the kennels. Also, in many regions, justice is often purchased. Many lying lawyers become judges. What if Alex had become a judge. 🤯 WTF - HOW is this S.C. Senate business? This is not the forum to have this discussion/debate. This should be on a tv network interview - NOT the S.C. Senate Floor. Seriously? Despicable. How was he even allowed to be excused to be a lawyer in a criminal trial? None of us in our daily jobs would be permitted to double-dip like this. Sickening.

How inappropriate for this SC State Senator for him to broach this subject on public TV, especially immediately following this sensational trial! ALSO, is this man questioning Judge Newman's credibility because he is black? This question should have been discussed at a different time and place!

Publicly electing judges is a ridiculous idea that only Americans cling to. Judges should be concerned with the law, not politics. Politics is inherently corrupt, yet Americans seem to think that it’s a good idea to elect their highest law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges. Legal decisions should be based on the law, not what is going to get them elected next time around.

Thats shocking that this guy should be allowed to discuss this case on the senate floor, its like he's making a speech for his next election, by the way we have a v good judical system in europe and u could look at ur tv and social media and how u allow a trial to run along side the real trial taking place in the courts. So wrong on every level. Our lawyers do'nt run out to the media to be in the limelight the minute the case is over,so do'nt lecture europeans on our legal system.!!

If I’m not mistaken he represented Paul in the boat case and had Judge Newman removed because of his history of bond denial. Obviously the elder Murdaugh probably played a role in that but Harpootlian and Griffin had to have known. I’m not a lawyer or politician and don’t know the in and outs but it was obviously a problem going on that district.
