Yes, such a song is gracious with meaning and our thanks to Harry Belafonte and Nana Mouskouri for this beautiful song. Add to it are your generous words, Allison Williams. Yes, we do weep for all of our limited lives, but with allies like Belafonte and Mouskouri. And Allison Williams. It makes the going easier. My life would be poorer not having known these people, their songs, their words.

The first time I went to his concert was with my mother in the mid 1960s. Thanks to my her, I came to appreciate this legend early in life. His was a life well lived. May he deservedly RIP. ❤

I remember alright - in Vancouver, 1965, I went to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre to hear Belafonte, who sang two sets. Between them he introduced a young woman he had recently discovered - Nana Mouskouri. Thank you, Harry, and RIP.

Oh my goodness…….where has all that amazingly beautiful music gone too. There don’t seem to be voices like there used to be…..really singing not shouting . My grandchild won’t be listening to this and will have missed sooooo much. What is my great grandchild going to hear. Yes I am very old.

I was introduced to "Try to Remember" from the Greek Theater concert album. I was introduced to Belafonte in 1956 with his album simply named "Belafonte" (I still have both albums). Nobody delivers a ballad with quite the sincerity of feeling that Belafonte did in his prime. I still treasure his albums from the '50's & '60's. There is nobody his like on the horizon at the moment.

I always smile when I think of my mother’s admiration for Harry Belafonte ; she particularly loved his singing in “Carmen Jones”. Poor Mum was quite mortified when I revealed to her that Harry was dubbed by an opera singer in that movie.

Jeden Film mit ihm habe ich gesehen als junges Mädchen. Es ist ein toller Mann. Ich habe damals nach New York geschrieben. Einen Monat habe ich gewartet dann kam das Autogramm von ihm. Da war ich glücklich drüber
