And the chess room caters to Ron's knowledge of how to play chess. They also have natural camouflage due to their coloration, and they're the only birds who don't have bare feet due to their habitats, like the Arctic Tundra. At the time of the deaths of Lily and James Potter at the hands of Voldemort, Harry was only 15 months old.

Colette, great reaction. No spoilers from me about the storylines, but a word about the cast. Somewhere between the wrap of the 2nd film and the start of the 3rd, Richard Harris (Dumbledore) passed away. So from the 3rd film on there is a new Dumbledore. Both actors did a wonderful job. You talked about the great acting of the 3 young leads, and you are correct. Hard to believe that in this 1st film Emma was only 9 years old. Hope you enjoy the entire ride.

In the book, Harry and Ron take longer to make friends with Hermione. She's initially played as even more bossy and annoying, almost on the level of another Draco Malfoy; but then they all become friends after the troll battle.

Finally, someone to Simp over Snape with besides just myself😂 that man holds such a SPECIAL place in my heart.

You won't find out about this in the movies or in the books, the only way you would know is if you do a deep dive on Pottermore now known as The Wizarding World. Harry's great great great great grandfather, create a potion known as Skele-Gro. And then his grandfather created sleep easy hair potion and doubled the fortune of the Potter family. Which then was eventually passed down to Harry after his father and mother passed away.

There was a young girl who had a terminal illness and asked JK if she could read what she'd written so far of the next book in the series. JK was too late and she'd died before she got to her. So she put her in the book. You hear in 1 of the films, someone getting sorted by the hat in the background, that's the girl. What a nice woman 😊😊😊

Muggles can see them going into the platform wall. This we know cuz at the end of the book they talk about how the praying hands stood in front of the gate and allowed only a couple people through at a time, that way the Muggles won't notice. The reason why they don't necessarily see them going into the wall, is because of basically snow blindness they're so focused on what they're trying to complete that their brain doesn't fully register what they saw and so they don't even notice it. Especially when it's only a couple at a time

This was better explored in the book, but Harry and Ron didn’t even like Hermione at the beginning. They even avoided her and thought she was a bit stuck up. They only became friends about half way in the book after they save her from the troll and she stood up for them.

Interesting fact James Potter (Harry's father) technically didn't lose to Voldemort, when he took Harry's mother and baby Harry upstairs he realized he left his wand downstairs and quickly went back to get it, but when he came down the stairs he was immediately killed by Voldemort with no way to defend himself, plus James and Lily were both members of the Order of the Phoenix, and together defied Voldemort at least three times in the past.

I swear, most Harry Potter fans I looked at and I have met in person have been impersonating the characters and recreated some of the best scenes ever, including my favorite, the big chessboard scene. Also, I’m Hufflepuff.

How do people not realize Harry is dodging the club? I've seen multiple reactions of people wondering why its missing.

Everyone who starts with the movies always asks, "why wouldn't the Dursleys just let Harry go to Hogwarts from the start if they hated having him around so much?" The books explain this. Vernon's greatest fear, above all, is having other people find out they're associated with magic. They were terrified of Harry learning he had powers, and thought the best way to keep it all hushed up was to make sure he never found out. And yes, Petunia is jealous of her sister too.

Voldemort/Quirrel couldn't touch Harry because of some really old blood magic: his mothers sacrifice to save him. Its also why he has to stay at his aunt and uncle during the school holiday, his aunt is the only surviving blood relative. As explained in book 6 which I'm currently reading.
