I think Anakin searchs help from his master, in the scene when Obi-Wan says to him "Goodbye". It's clear. He apologizes, he's in distress. But Obi doesn't really hear Anakin... Even if he says to him "You are strong and wise, I am very proud of you", to keep him calm, and because he loves Anakin too. He completely trusts his apprentice. He doesn't really feel what Anakin feels at this moment. Obi-Wan goes without his apprentice. Anakin feels himself lost, there is incertitude in his face. He surely waited a real help from Obi-Wan... And Obi-Wan leaves him alone, between the Council who doesn't trust him... And Palpatine. It's really tragic

Sidious lost against Windu on purpose, to make Anakin switch. Windu is good, but Sidious was the most powerful Sith in history, as they'd grown stronger the last 1000 years, thanks to the rule of two, where the apprentice always had to try to surpass his master, then take on his/her own apprentice, and so on. You should read about the rule of two, created by Darth Bane.

Right?! I remember my mom said she didn't like him because he was "whiny". Yeah, someone undergoing a crisis of identity, politics, and morality will sound "whiny" because they are actively speaking out and complaining about what they see as a threat to existence and order.
@kurohitakiri1665
@kurohitakiri1665 8 ай бұрын
@ncard00 I disagree. Sidious was manipulative, and no doubt powerful. He may even be the most powerful canon sith (though there are some from Legends who are stronger.) But it's not necessarily because of the rule of 2. Plagueis betrayed Bane's philosophy. One to embody the power, one to crave it. The apprentice was meant to challenge the Lord in combat when they felt confident, not kill them through scheming. Palpatine did the same to Plagueis. Bane's philosphy was that if every subsequent apprentice grew stronger than and beat their master in combat, the line would only ever grow stronger and stronger. When Plagueis killed Tenebrous the way he did, and chose to try and live forever and never be replaced by an apprentice, Bane's philosophy died. Plagueis neither proved he was stronger than Tenebrous, nor did Sidious prove he was stronger than Plagueis. That being said, Palpatine is certainly the best schemer. Oh, and he didn't lose to Windu on purpose, though he definitely spun it in his favor. The Jedi caught on to Sidious a bit sooner than he anticipated, and Mace's fighting style Vaapad uses the dark side, and is a very anti-sith technique. Though whether Sidious let Mace win or not remains debateable at least

It's such a nice touch that, on Vader's first breath, the smoke above the mask is disturbed to show him breathing. One of the saddest parts is hearing that iconic evil voice ask "Where is Padmé?" with such tenderness and concern. It makes you think about what is still within the suit. Apparently they deliberately made Padmé still look pregnant, so that nobody would suspect the babies had survived. That would help them stay hidden from the Sith.

Revenge Of The Sith is my absolute favorite out of the prequels. The double climactic lightsaber duel that takes place toward the end of the movie, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader VS Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar and Yoda VS Emperor Palpatine on Coruscant in the Senate chamber are top-notch across the board. Musical score, fight choreography, visual effects, audio effects and emotional impact. I give them all an A+.

The sequels are horrible--made by Disney only to milk $$$ from SW fans, but without logic. Even George Lucas hates them, ep. 7-8-9 were not part of his timeline. Oh my goodness what a wonderful, heartbreaking reaction! I definitely suggest watching Kenobi if you get a chance, as well as the Clone Wars TV Show, both of which add tremendous depth to all the characters. Clone Wars first though, it adds context for a number of references made in later works. Nice job picking up on the parallel between Mace and Sidious "He's too dangerous to be kept alive"! Another interesting parallel I noticed was with Anakin disarming Dooku earlier and Mace later (believing the lie of Palpatine's weakness, thinking this could allow cooler heads to prevail) leading to Mace's death and Skywalker's corruption. In comparison to Return of the Jedi, Luke moves to kill Palpatine and Vader (learning from what happened to him falling to darkness after killing Dooku and Mace being killed after his hand was cut off) deflects Luke's Blade, preventing Luke's corruption and disarmament. An absolutely heart-wrenching further bit of detail from the end where Vader gets his forever-mask comes from the novelization of Revenge of the Sith (beautifully done, absolutely worth the read for whoever can get a copy): The first dawn of light in your universe brings pain. The light burns you. It will always burn you. Part of you will always lie upon black glass sand beside a lake of fire while flames chew at your flesh. You can hear yourself breathing. It comes hard, and harsh, and it scrapes nerves already raw, but you cannot stop it. You can never stop it. You cannot even slow it down. You don’t even have lungs anymore. Mechanisms hardwired into your chest breathe for you. They will pump oxygen into your bloodstream forever. Lord Vader? Lord Vader, can you hear me? And you can’t, not in the way you once did. Sensors in the shell that prisons your head trickle meaning directly into your brain. You open your scorched-pale eyes; optical sensors integrate light and shadow into a hideous simulacrum of the world around you. Or perhaps the simulacrum is perfect, and it is the world that is hideous. Padme? Are you here? Are you all right? you try to say, but another voice speaks for you, out from the vocabulator that serves you for burned-away lips and tongue and throat. Padme? Are you here? Are you all right? I’m very sorry, Lord Vader. I’m afraid she died. It seems in your anger, you killed her. This burns hotter than the lava had. No…no, it is not possible! You love her. You have always loved her. You could never will her death. Never. But you remember… You remember all of it. You remember the dragon that you brought Vader forth from your heart to slay. You remember the cold venom in Vader’s blood. You remember the furnace of Vader’s fury, and the black hatred of seizing her throat to silence her lying mouth… And there is one blazing moment in which you finally understand that there was no dragon. That there was no Vader. That there was only you. Only Anakin Skywalker. That it was all you. Is you. Only you. You did it. You killed her. You killed her because, finally, when you could have saved her, when you could have gone away with her, when you could have been thinking about her, you were thinking about yourself… It is in this blazing moment that you finally understand the trap of the dark side, the final cruelty of the Sith - Because now yourself is all you will ever have. And you rage and scream and reach through the Force to crush the shadow who has destroyed you, but you are so far less now than what you were. You are more than half machine, you are like a painter gone blind, a composer gone deaf, you can remember where the power was but the power you can touch is only a memory, and so with all your world-destroying fury it is only droids around you that implode, and equipment, and the table on which you were strapped shatters, and in the end, you cannot touch the shadow. In the end, you do not even want to. In the end, the shadow is all you have left. Because the shadow understands you, the shadow forgives you, the shadow gathers you unto itself- And within your furnace heart, you burn in your own flame. This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker. Forever…

It's tragic irony. Anakin had knowledge of the future and tried to prevent that future. But in doing so, he caused the very thing he was trying to prevent in a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's a common theme in classic literature, particularly in Sophocles' Oedipus Rex.

It speaks volumes how in all of anakins pain screaming as the droids ripped charred skin from his body. All that pain. Didn’t touch the droids. But when he heard lord sidious say that he killed padme. His journey to the dark side was truly complete. Because there was no one he hated more at that moment then anakin skywalker. Darth Vader took the droids out. Not anakin. In that moment where sidious smiled. He knew this was no longer Anakin. I love that the prequels are getting the love now that they always deserved. Obi Wan was very conflicted about what to do about Anakin. He was told by Yoda to kill Anakin but Obi didn't want to do that at all. And that in the bottom of his heart I think he thinks that Anakin could be saved. But letting him burn was an easy way to not have to kill Anakin himself and that he might just die from his injuries. Whatever decision Obi Wan made I wouldn't blame him for it because that's such an extreme choice to make.

The reason Padme still had her baby bump was probably because they padded her to make it appear as if her babies died with her. Both Vader and the Emperor would be looking for any potential child she may have birthed...Anakin for obvious reasons, and Palpatine because he knows how powerful the Skywalker bloodline is. Faking the death of the children would ensure their safety. It's worth noting that in the comics, Palpatine arranged for Padme to be embalmed and her body displayed prominently in a memorial on Naboo. Although it was customary for the dead of that world to be cremated, Palpatine wanted to ensure that there was always a physical location where Vader could visit and see his dead wife, as an eternal reminder of his failure. It was just another way of tormenting him, fueling his hate and anger, making him even stronger in the dark side of the Force.

@@more-reasons6655In this case the author of this are right. They made everyone believe she died with the children. In that way they could go under ground. If the dark lords knew about the children ( there were agents all over ) the prophecy could not be fulfilled. Anakin fulfilled the prophecy, Luke and his sister will bring down the dark lords. Hes sister with a son. Also hard to go under ground if you must protect 2 children. But if we talk about humans and pregnancy, yes some humans have part of the belly left but not all. You know det amount of water there is. The the children and the placenta. Its alot of things that drops out. So no if you die in childbirth your stomach will be almost gone. When there no more blod pumping and the liver and other organs dont get blod they thrinks shrinking and she was on her back. So there some physics-based fact. What I find amazing is how well they hid that Palpatine is the Emperor given Ian played him in both trilogies. He was a young guy wearing a lot of makeup in 4, 5, and 6. And actually grew into the younger version of the character before he creates his own disfigurement. His role is so overlooked as well. The emperor was a genius. He purposely disfigures himself just to sway the republic to turn on the Jedi, which helps help take complete control of the galaxy. I really hope you watch the Obi-wan series too. Hayden and Eean McGregor both reprise their roles and its actually the first time Hayden gets to wear the full Vader suit. Clearly you've grown to love these characters though and its always great to see new fans. There's so much star wars out there that it can be a bit overwhelming and all of it is both loved and hated. The Clone Wars animated series is absolutely amazing given it shows how Anakin grows into Vader throughout the time between The Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith. Anakin would not have kept strangling Padme if only one had not interrupt because Aniken would not have strangled Padme if Obi-Wan has not shown up, both Yoda and Obi-Wan choose to believe that Anakin is completely gone and that only Darth Vader remains, this is why they set out to kill him, they tell Luke the same thing, it is only Luke and Padme who refuse to believe this and instead choose love over violence in order to try to bring Aniken back, believing that he is still there. Luke in episode six proves that if Padme had a chance like him, she would’ve also had successfully converted him. It is only because Obi-Wan shows up to kill Anakin, making Aniken blind with the rage and the dark side believing she’s betrayed him that he chokes her.

Nevermind by those wrote by authors who jumped into their own amazing works later on after getting praise for their handling of the IP. What ever he didn't was all good fun to him all George wanted to do was make the Skywalker family storyline which he did. The fact that the fans are pissed off and split very starkly against. Disney bringing StarWars in the backroom chopshop and chopping it to pieces and selling off parts and making it "Frankensteins Monster" with a half dead political crap and retcons in its ass. So we all have to just "Put up and shut up" with a piece of original Americana is utter fucking shit. It was everyone's and with George's post-prequel work with animated TCW, he damn well showed it. No need for Disney's political crap woke shit and "Fuel" and all staring from the Saber in the back from "Darth Kennedy" and her Ideological woke bullshit. We pay for the stuff they make and we were damn well shown better characters writing and a hell of alot more hope then what we had before the Sith take over. So go take a look at Disney's stock one more time and rub it in. If they were doing well with their IPs they have a mountain to sit on but they don't. The fans have spoken about all of Disney's OG IPs, their new ones, and the handling of The Marvel uni and StarWars. We make decisions with money and that shit ain't getting a dime from me nor many people apparently. If you like that crap pack it in sellout. 8:33 “he was to dangerous to be kept alive.” - Palpatine 32:32 “he’s to dangerous to be left alive.” - Mace Windu…. The lesson to learn from this.. is revenge even from a place of trying to do good, will result in the same way as doing it with malintent.

No way Obi-wan was going to help Anakin after taking his legs and left arm off. He walked away under the impression he would die of his wounds and the flame.

I think the reason that they kept Padme's baby bump for her funeral was to protect the children and make the empire think that they died with her so they wouldn't be hunted.

I saw this in theaters opening day my freshman year of college with my friend, Jon. When the movie ended, the entire audience applauded. Jon died from COVID. I think about him every time I watch this movie.

I 100% agree. I have always found pregnant women to be attractive. The fact that women create life with their bodies is incredible.

I truly loved your reaction! Your emotional reaction to Anakins’ betrayal and Obiwans’ responsibility as well as saddening scene of having to stop his fallen apprentice by any means necessary even though he saw of anakin as brother and padme’s death.

the reason he left him in the book was obi wan didint want to kill kill him he loved him too much so he thought the fire would do the job without him doing it so thats why theres a book on the thoughts on everyone it goes in details of how they thought in their mind
