I've been watching your videos for quite sometime and always enjoyed them. Watching your children grow up to be respectful and hard working is truly a testament to you as parents during these trying times. I am sorry for whatever you all are going through and added you to my prayer list and pray for you every morning. Thank you Kenzie for the laughter you bring me in being just you. Stay strong Rhonda. Remember, you never walk alone.

Corn was also originally a tropical grass, but the genetic information in it cells provided for incredible adaptability over hundreds of years of breeding to be able to be grown up into Canada.I saw some Peace River Flint corn at test plot day once . A foot tall,40 day maturity. They said it's gentics were used in developing early maturity hybrids.

Sorghum also sweetens corn silage and the cows seem to really like it. Where they tend not to clean up all their silage, they tend to clean up the mix! At least that is what I remember from working on neighbors farms when I was a youngster.

Here in SE Mo, we call it milo. Most is harvested for the grain, which is at the top of the stalk, so after harvesting, the field looks like a corn field that the farmer only cut half of the stalk. The grain is used for livstock feed, and to make sorghum molasses. An acquired taste, by the way

Tough part with our family is when we sale part of our farm ground and I inherited 60 acres but bank rule is you have to have 120 acres of ground for collateral and auctionéer stopped by today said had starting bid of $13000.00 an acre and my cousin from Grundy center iowa called and she told me 80 acres sold for 22800.00 an acre investment banker from Chicago bought it. Going to be hard see part of families land sell.

That Sanders is growing like a weed. I like his go-kart, looks like fun to drive. In our area when I was growing up, the Dairy farmers would plant the sorghum right along with the corn. The sorghum and the corn would then be chopped together, and put in the silos or bunkers. Along with the extra protein that sorghum provided, it would also be a sweetener like molasses, to make the Dairy cows drink more water to help in producing more milk. The Dairy farmers also had to be very aware if temperatures dropped low enough to freeze the sorghum in the field. You can still harvest sorghum that has been frozen, but you could not feed it to the cattle right away. You had to let the sorghum ferment for several weeks to a month, or it could be deadly to the cattle. Ronda,.....I have an idea for your cooking channel. Mackenzie was listing off several things that she wanted for her birthday meal. Maybe you could show us how to prepare that meal.

Rye "grass" is somewhat of a pest here in Ga. I planted some for a cover years ago and didn't think I would ever get rid of it. I have tried clover mixed with small grains before and in my old drill it would migrate down to the bottom because it was so small. My new Great Plains drill has the small seed box so I don't have the problem anymore. Not sure if Kevins Deere drill can be modified with small seed boxes. MacKinzie is always a treat. She is so carefree and a joy to watch. I'll bet she can hold her own with her brothers...
