I like all the shellies you can possibly get in there! Love green beans! Grew up eating home grown and home canned in Gatlinburg. Sadly, I haven't had any in many years. But I never forget how good that beans, taters, mustard greens, and cornbread upbringing was. Priceless. You are blessed.

I can only imagine you and Matt together and the mischief you two could get into! You both have wonderful families and I am sure you were a understanding ear when Miss Cindy passed. It’s truly a blessing your garden has done so well, everybody’s around here was burned up by July. It has stayed too hot to even plant suckers for a fall crop like we can sometimes do. As Guy Clark sings, what’d life be without homegrown tomatoes? Seeing yours is making my mouth water! A bowl of peas with some salted tomato wedges sounds like a perfect late summer supper. Do me a favor and eat one of those for an ol girl in Texas, would ya?! 🤠

Holy Maters! That's a lot of Maters! Gorgeous crop too! Reminds me of Daddy's garden in 1972. Laudy mercy we had maters out our ears that summer. Daddy had an acre garden up at Mrs. Kirby's house that year and it did throw out so much corn, maters, squash, cukes, cabbage, taters, man and how. I worked all summer in that garden with Daddy. I bout couldn't take the heat, but Daddy kept going so I did too! Mana canned so much that summer. I remember all the canned maters we ate all winter. I loved to put the fresh canned maters on saltines with enough to soak the crackers with the juice, a little pepper and salt! Man oh man talk about good eatin! Then we won't talk about all the Heavenly Cherokee purple mater sandwiches I ate all summer slathered with Dukes Mayo! I know you're gonna eat high on the hog all winter with your harvest too! God has Blessed you and them younguns! Yuns Enjoy!❤😊🍅🍅🍅🥒🌽🌶🥔

Hi Justin, i hope you and the girls are well. You crack me up with all those shelly beans to green bean ratio 😅 goodness gracious. Lol. I love some shelly beans too especially with a little bacon grease in mine when i cook them. Sometimes a little bacon. My husband would say; you might need to wear a helmet because your tongue is gonna be slapping the side of your head when you eat this food. I love watching Tipper Matt and the pressley girls. Howdy Justro- man, you got the tomatoes for sure. Ours are slowing down here. Been really hot for a few weeks and been watering everything. When it comes to the green beans I don’t have a preference on the shelled beans mixed in- I just like em , especially with some smoked bacon grease cooked in em. As far as the hot peppers I knew the hot banana peppers grew up, but my favorite is cayenne. We grow a lot of different peppers. Hope y’all have a great weekend. God bless

Thank you. Been following C.A. for a while now. If we're canning green beans, there is no beans, just green. Ours have been gone for a month now, 69 qts this year. 20 qts of whole tomatoes, juice is coming. Making Green Tomato Marmalade while watching this. The wife raised Cherokee Purple this year. Tomatoes are waning along with the the rest of the garden. Hopefully enough green tomatoes for a round of Green Tomato Catsup. God Bless and stay safe.

Maters look awesome. I got me one of those clippers you are using. Down here I have to put three sticks around my pepper plants to help keep the winds from blowing them over. Love Mrs tippers channel seem like genuine folks to me. I would have to go with the first jar of beans but my mamaw back in the day would disagree with me and go with number 3. Take care brother enjoyed the video.

So far I have made 30 jars of your mama's pickles and have more cukes to do tonight - probably 6 more tonight alone. My husband says I can't plant cukes next year - haha. I know I will have enough in the coming days for at least a dozen more if not 2 dozen more quarts of garlic pickles - I also put a couple of little dried red peppers in them. So good.

I have always been told that the way to tell hot pepper from sweet was the hot would point up and the sweet would point down. It always seems like we are putting up more than we can eat but if you look at it like this on average a bushel of bean’s will work out to 21 quarts well if you put up 2 bushels that’s not even enough for a quart a week to eat for a year

Growing up my family always called green beans “Snaps”…I’m not a big fan of’em….I do like the tender young green beans, tossed with olive oil & roasted or sautéed in a skillet … You’ve really been blessed with the maters…I’m jealous because although I grew up in NC a country girl…I now live in Florida….really hard to get good tasting maters here…I tried growing some in 5 gallon buckets this year and got a few but didn’t last long in this heat…I’m going to try growing some this fall after we get out of these 90’s weather.. It was Tippers channel that brought me here earlier when she was doing her pickles & I subscribed & enjoy you videos❤

I have never heard of having a "Shelly bean" in your green beans. We just always picked them young and tender before a bean had time to form. Were we doing it wrong all thao time? I also grew up with people around here only growing bush beans. It could be our shorter season in Minnesota?! I am still the only one that grows pole beans that I know of. Sadly I rarely see a garden anymore. Even the farms around here don't have gardens. We just got back from traveling through Virginia and West Virginia and the thing that struck me was no matter how fancy the house they all had gardens. I kept telling my husband to slow down so I could see them. Made my heart happy. What kind of tomatoes do you grow? I have to grow every color of the rainbow. Green, yellow, black, purple, brown and yes red. Looks like a good harvest there. Blessings from Minnesota.

Howdy Heidi, my people have always let the beans get full before picking them. To me it is pointless to eat just the hulls. Some varieties may be better that way. We have always growed Mountain Half Runners or Greasys. A lot of gardens around here too. Thank you for sharing this with us. I named all the varieties in an earlier video, Cherokee Purple, Mountain Fresh, Brandywine, German Pinks, Celebrity, and another or two. Those I save seed from are Speckled Romans, Cherokee Purples, Big Pinks, I bought plants this year because I didn’t grow my own. Thank you! 🙂

@@metcalfmills5679 the small variety is a cross I did with Tommy toe and and a large heirloom, it has some disease resistant, mabe the size of a golf ball. Guy from Clemson came out this spring, I was trying to get a patent on that variety.i named it viola after my great grandmother, her middle name. He gave the plant and fruit set, vigor etc. A high 8 to a high 9, he was going to contact a seed company, but never heard from him. About 2 weeks ago, another agent from Clemson called and said she had this area now, so I'm assuming, something must have happened lol. No variety unless a hybrid with a lot of disease resistance last around here now, and I understand its spreading north.
