Is this 100% lossless? I had so much trouble creating a lossless chicken cooker last year, ended up having to 1 tick pulse a lava bucket. Which is ridiculous, because you cannot 1 tick pulse a dispenser, so I used 2 dispensers that swapped the lava between themselves. It was really complicated. And you replaced like 40 pieces of Redstone with a cauldron, genius! Those new tunnel bores might be flashy, but this is my pick for most impressive build of 2022.

Dude I used the same principle to hold chikens, only I have them inside a composter + carpet and I did it to prevent the hoppers from updating. I then go and use foxes for killing because can't say no to looting. Really cool to see you working on all Minecraft areas, not just the new stuff.

@tldr9989
@tldr9989 2 жыл бұрын
@@racernatorde5318 It doesn't use durability. You just give the fox a looting sword and make sure he doesn't get food, otherwise he'll swap the sword for it. The best way to achieve this is dispensing the eggs into a half slab with carpet on top and the fox standing in the carpet, so he'll reach the chicken entities once they grow but the chicken items lands below. As this is not 100% reliable, I still recommend using a hopper minecart for collection. You can either have fire aspect as well in the sword to obtain cooked chicken for food, or not and obtain raw chicken for trading.

Thank you! When I checked for chicken farms some time ago, none of them worked properly anymore because of how chickens don’t drop their meat if they’re instakilled by lava. The lava cauldron is one very creative way of going around this problem. Great stuff :)

with minor adjustments it is tileable. you only need to use 1 observer and can use glass blocks with redstone dust on top instead. I'm not quite sure if QC might be an issue with the dispensers with the sculk sensor version. In case it is you can move the sculk sensor 1 higher and put alternating powered and activator rails below for the tileable version

One of my first thoughts about this is it looks tileable, and it sort of is. You just need to swap out the on/off switch, as a lever will only stop the clock on the line it is on and its neighbors, and if you have a long line any still active clocks power the ones you turned off. Either have more levers and manually hit all the ones you need, or do something like pushing a redstone block above the dust line to power off more simultaneously. There are likely more sensible solutions as well, but I'm no redstone master.

This farm works great, even in Bedrock edition. Sculk sensor was a nice touch as well. The occasional chicken escaping tends to push the hopper minecart off the slab, so I toss on some trap doors around the slab and it kept it in place. Just a thought. I left one side open so escaped chickens wouldn't fill the minecart block. Thanks for the video!

Well technically, you could: Instead of using cauldron to hold the (egg laying) chickens, you could make a "box" using trapdoors on all 4 sides and the top. In that case, you can place a vine or ladder inside the space where the chickens are, allowing you to store more chickens than the entity cramming limit. It's viable, but not too practical due to the lag. Also, this farm is more of a "how compact you can make a farm" kinda farm, not too suited for early game.
